    • Aid needed with Plug-in

Hello, me and Wirehead are making a plug-in and would like someone to help, mostly with graphics but some mission stuff. Please e-mail me or post a reply with your questions. Thanks.

By the way, this is for EV.

    • To clarify on dashriprock's post. We need some minor assistance in placing shipyard graphics. The length, width, etc. Maybe the angle of the shot so that we can make a pic of the ship. I already have created the ships, and the sprite, and put them into the plug, just need those dang shipyard pics. Thats all.

    • i just talked to wire he said we could actully use some other stuff such as possibly help with this one ship.

    • I can help with... whatever, and I will be of much more help if I find that the bad weather did not slow down the arrival of Bryce 5. 😛 Reply or IM me some time...(LequisMX) So, that's graphics, intro screens, maybe intro music, dëscs, and probably resources along the way.

    • To make the shipyard pic, you'll need a 45 degree angle shot of your ship -
      Posted Image
-it needs to be 100x100. The smaller version is 32x32 and has an ID number of one higher in two columns... uh.. here, example. If the shipyard pic for the Crappy Fighter is 5400, then the tiny shipyard pic would be 5501. Good luck with your plug!

    • Thanks for the help! Also, maybe you can help me with this. is there a limit in EV on how many ships or outfits you can add to a plug. I know there are probobly restrictions regarding the amount, but I'm not positive. Thanks again. And Meowx Design, what program do you use to create your graphics for EV/O? I loved them in The Quantumire Trilogy. Thats all.

There are a number of limits in the Escape Velocity games, and they differ between the three different games. They can all be found in the 'Game Constants' section at the beginning of the appropriate Resource Bible.

    • Ok, another problem has come up. Ok, I have set the angle to 45?, but the ship seams quite small compard to other ships in EV. When I put it in ResEdit with the correct ID, EV during game play showed it being quite tiny. Also, the vessel did not fill up almost all the space in the 100x100 square as the other EV ships do. I am currently using Mechanisto to create the vessels, that is probobly part of the problem. Does anyone know the exact configuration for Rendering the Shipyard pic in Mecanisto? Any assistance would be very appreciated.

    • It sounds like you're rendering to something other than 72dpi. If you do, then copy/pasting to ResEdit will bring in the graphic at nominal screen size, not at per pixel resolution.

Try changing the resolution (without resampling) to 72dpi in Graphic Converter or Photoshop.

      Hope this helps.

Set the camera angle (translate) to 5,6,7. Group your ship into one object, and scale it until it fits into the window. Email me if you want more details, and check out (url="http://"http://home.earthlink.net/~squibix/ev/")my site(/url) for a variety of other Mechanisto information.

    • My turn! When you make a gövt, how do you figure out the comm names to insert of that government? I looked in the EV Bible (Annotated Edition) and it was not any help. Thanks!
