    • [ANN] -- ResEdit Documentation Released

To my knowledge, no one has ever made a manual about how to use ResEdit for plug-in development. It is surprising that no one has, because ResEdit is so powerful that learning it by the "Touch and Feel" method can be very dangerous. Luckily, full documentation for ResEdit has arrived at last.

A Plug-in Developer's Guide to ResEdit is a fifteen-page Adobe Acrobat PDF file which teaches you all the skills you'll need to use ResEdit effectively for plug-in development (I couldn't fit the entire name into the file name, so it is known on the EVO Downloads web page as ResEdit Documentation). It is fully bookmarked, so it can be used as a reference or as a manual/tutorial. A copy of ResEdit is included along with the manual.

A Plug-in Developer's Guide to ResEdit does not tell you how to make a plug-in, only how to use ResEdit. Because of that, This manual can be used for both EV and EVO, though it was written with EVO in mind.

A Plug-in Developer's Guide to ResEdit has been submitted to the (url="http://"http://www.AmbrosiaSW.com/games/evo/addons.html")EVO Downloads web page.(/url) and will be uploaded to the page soon. I would have submitted it to EV Dev.Net as well, but I couldn't figure out how. Once I do, it will be submitted.

It doesn't matter whether you're right or wrong; if you can keep your opinion for more than a day,
      you're doing well.

    • Maybe announcing it before it is available was a bit of a bad idea? This topic will have slid down the board before people can even get the guide (which does sound good).

No it won't, because I just moved it into the right place. 😛
