Sketches of Six Ships (crude but effective): Done

What is needed: Someone (or two) to do Ship, Station and Outfit sprites, I have -no time- to drop everything, learn a 3D program or two and do these on my own.

Once the planets and systems are ready I will start working in Res Edit to actualy start building the TC.

ares1 - I think if you are going to help with graphics, I think more original stuff would be better, as most people wouldn't want to get a new plug and say 'Hey, i've seen these before...'

I have to make graphics for my own plugin over time, but I would also like to challenge myself and make my work more public by helping other people with their plugins. However, I need to get my own work done, so if I make a bunch of graphics for someone, I could kill two birds with one stone by using them also in my plug. Besides, many of the best plugs out there reuse graphics. Ever play the Empire plugins?

Yeah, but the plug-ins that have unique graphics (or are the original sources of these reused graphics) are often better. Think Pale, Final Battle, and EVGE.

Well its the thought that counts right ares, hah. I'm actualy doing a number of "real" sketches now for the ships which I am going to scan today. Yeah I do want custom graphics but as I've said this project will continue even if I have to "borrow" all of EVO's ship, station and outfit sprites. I figure the completion of the story is more important than rather my Dreadnaught or Cruiser looks unique. Besides its not like, as I've said, there are just tons of 3D designers chomping at the bit to work for free, hopefuly though I'll find one. Anyway back to drawing.

Yeah, making graphics is very hard, tedious, and time-consuming. If I make something, I have to later make it publically availble to people who don't mind having hand-me-downs just so it can be used enough to make up for the effort put out to make it.

NNNormal the critic comes to the boards...

All your sketches look so... (can't think of right word). Can you draw straight lines? A ruler might help.
Although the side views look cool, it makes modeling the ship ten times more difficult. In EV, just how many times do you see a ship view of the ship? (I won't even try to model with only this angle.)
How could your junks be done when you haven't even made spobs?
If you have ever placed a map using ResEdit, you might find your map almost useless. (Atleast I would)
Your government names are really pretty boring. Can't you think of something better?
The image in the splash is OK, I guess, can you do something more interesting with the text?
Placing a return at the end of each url would make acessing the images more pleasant. (Make it a list)
Really, how old are you?

According to your checklist, you have completed ~10 parts with ~990 remaining.

OK. That was cruel, but I had to do it. Call it "beta when in developement".

hah discouragement non-withstanding, I do the best I can do with the materials I have, booring or not, I'm doing this mainly for my own benefit as I have tried to complete plugins before and would simpily like to get one done. If no one ever downloads it, its no big deal to me, the stuff I've done is fine as far as I'm concerned, so your arguments are fine, and I take no offense, thanks.
