Hello Thorprime! I'm curious to hear whether you have any significant things to tell us about your EVO/N editor, NovaBurst.

As I understand it, you've since updated her with several new features, including showing parts if the "EV3 Resource Bible" when that specific editor is invoked, and a map/system editor...How's it Going?

Map/System editor, yes. EV3 Bible, not yet. Basically I haven’t worked on it as much lately as Chem. is kicking my but. Stoichiometry is not fun. Anyway I've got Tyco helping me now so maybe development will speed back up.

Poll: Is anyone interested in the Nova part or just the EV/EVO part? With the R&R; editors you can do Nova but I believe they said they probably weren’t going to port it to the old versions.

Pretty much just the EV/EVO part. If I make stuff for Nova it will be with the R&R; editors since they were contracted by Ambrosia to do it and thus the editors are known to work well and be free from bugs. Not criticizing NovaBurst, just that's my thinking.

    • The NovaTools are excellent because they work within the program we are used to and we trust ASW's judgement. But an application editor can go further.

I will personally spend almost no time on the previous games because Nova supports just as many features so an editor isn't important to me there.

I'd be interested in both versions, but the most endearing is the EV3 Bible within the program itself, for me. It's always incredibly hard for me to remember and then find all the values needed to create a plugin. This would be a major help.

      NOVA!
The mysterious other member of the Dystopia team uses OS X most of the time, and Classic is really awkward.
Personally I don't understand why anyone is still working on plug-ins for the older versions of EV unless they are almost done. No offense or anything, but Nova just has so much more to offer.

I'm looking forward to the graphical system editor, I think you should be shooting for a clone of EV Developer's Map. The R&R; editors don't appear to have a graphical system editor, at least not one for OS X.

If you can't hear me back there, raise your hand.

If R&R; ports NovaTools to OSX I might not have a reason to do a total editor but expect at least the Shan editor with full preview and system editor to be released.

Many people want to create easy to do mods and want their plugs to run on 68K macs.

I've put a lot of work into that editor. It will be released.

Oh c'mon, yes it is! 😉 Just think of it a way to determine how much water vapor you can get when you ignite a fart. 🙂
