After reading the EV:O bible it made things a lot easier. I decided to try to make a beam weapon to test what I know. Obviosly i did somthing wrong and I can't find out what. The weapon is buyable and shootable and you can see it. The only problem is it wont attack. It just goes right through everything I point it at. It dosent inflict any dammage

here is what I put for the Weapon file:

I doubt this is the reason, but BlastRadius is ignored. Other than that, maybe check your flags?

Try setting the inaccuracy to something other than 0. There was a bug in EVO 1.0.1 an EV 1.0.5 that caused various problems if the inaccuracy was set to 0. I don't know if this was fixed in EVO 1.0.2, but it's worth checking.

Some possible problems:

Flag $0200 - I don't think smoke is supported for beams, this could have a negative effect.
Flag $2000 - Shouldn't hurt anything, but if the beam isn't a turret, why?
Seeker Flags - I don't know if putting those on an unguided weapon affects the engine any. Setting them to FFFF seems to offer some potential for confusion, i don't know if that could be messing things up.

Other than that, I seem to recall some mention of having beam inaccuracy of 0 screwing up Override - try changing that to 1.

If you do get that to work in present form, that's going to be one nasty beam, better than the forklift, really. I'd suggest toning it down a lot.

Fix'd it! It was all in the Seeker (I'm not good at it) and the Misc flags. I changed the Seeker to $0000 and the Misc flags to 8850 (which was implied in the topic article). It works, and I have posted it (url="http://"http://www.geocities.com/madman801/KickButtBeam.sit")here(/url) . I called it kick butt beam, as it kills a UE Fighter (I'm a UE also; I killed it for a weapons test. A VERY Powerful weapon, I may add) in about 1/3 of a second. Nice!

thanks about my jumping with both forward (sorry I don't know how to quote). I'm actualy planning to tone this weapon down and call it the Blaze turret Beam. It will have a discripition about being stolen blaze cannon technology modified to be a more powerfull beam. It will be used by the Centurians.

(do you mean you fixed my plug.)

I know. I have one of those, but I also have AOL. (I know; my dad pays for it.) Being 12, I can't have a '18 or older' screenname, which is the only screenname that can connect to pages, like AmbrosiaSW.com or Mac.com. So, I can't use it. It's a nice service, though.
