Okay, if you want to make a pyramid, insert a cube, and then go and transformations and select taper. Taper makes something go to a point. The more you taper, the skinnier the end will go until it starts going back out. So, for pyramid, set the taper at zero(you will need to do this under transform setting). Also, if you want to taper in another direction besides up, go to details. The z will make it taper foward, the x to the left of the object, -x to the right of the objest and so on. Also, rotate rotates the pictures, but orientation often works good too, especially because rotations can often be tedious. The other most useful transformation that I can think of off the top of my head is bend. This is how you make something curve. You can change the direction, angle, etc. under transform settings. The main problem with Mechanisto is that there aren't any tutorials out there that show how to make ships.
