    • Graphics Please! :D

      10.3.2001

--Coild anyone provide the Fake ID card graphic for me? I'd like it if you did. And I'd like some different variations of them too! So, if you know of a website, I'd be very appreciative.

    • Okay, nevermind, don't answer me. 😛 . Well, I found it in EV Graphics. Who woulda guessed? 😛 Well, now I need to know if I can modify it. Can I edit it on GraphicConvertor and have it show up like the way I want it in the game?

The image can be edited in GraphicConverter.

Whether it will show up the way you want it to in the game depends on what you want, the limitations of GraphicConverter, and your skill at editing graphics. In short, we can't answer that. Try playing around with a copy of the image and see what you get.

    • Listen I hate to be like this but why dont you learn how to do it yourself? Start a development team so that people with certain skills that you dont have and you can work together to make the plug-in. They may even be able to teach you new skills. This would be far simpler for you too. Anyone can edit pics of this type in Graphic Convertor, just play about with it for about 10 minutes and I bet you will manage what you want to do just fine. There is nothing more satisfying than accomplashing something yourself so why instead of getting other people to do stuff for you, try learn how to do some of it for yourself.

I have no problem with people posting topics like this if they are genuinely stuck but it seems to me that you are just lazy. Sorry if I seem narkey but Im tired and have had a long day at school and your constant posting of requests is really beginning to piss me off.

OI, JOCK! Why don't you just shut up if you haven't got anything constructive to say, eh? This person is reaching out for help, his (I'm assuming it's a he) every right, for that is one of the main reasons why this baord exists. He's obviously a newbie and just wants to know a few things. If you don't like him asking loads of questions, well that's too bad for you isn't it? You don't like it, you can look at another board without questions, can't you?

And doing it yourself is bloody stupid. Try teaching Res-Edit to yourself with no external help (bible, EV data, webboard members ) and see how well you do with it. I don't see why this guy should have to inconvenience himself just because you don't like him "posting too much".

You're not Andrew, you're not a moderator, you have absolutely no bloody right to call people lazy and **** for almost no reason. If he's posting too much, why are you clicking on them? Just ignore his posts if it bothers you so much.

And if you've had a rough day at school, too bad for you: don't take it out on some innocent dude asking for a little help on, would you believe it , a helping webboard.

Watch what you bloody say in future.

Perhaps I was a bit to hasty in my cryticism, When I read back through it now it was pretty harsh, pretty much a flame. I will edit it now. I did however have some constructive things to say in there though. I will sum it up in here :

Try editing things yourself. That will teach you what to do in future, and help you learn new skills.

Try and get a development team together for your plug-in as this will give you more control over what is happening and also allow for people with different skills for different aspects of the plug.

There is nothing more satisfying than accomplashing something yourself so why instead of getting other people to do your work for you dont you learn how to do some of it for yourself.

And TSB, dont take what I said personally, I appologise most sincerely for what I said and wish you all the best in making your plug.

    • Jules, Gaviin is right. You should try to help newbies with plug-in making, because without new people making plugins, how long could you stay interested in EV? We should always encourge people asking questions (sane ones) about plugin development, and to continue to make great plugins.

Gaviin, usually the best way to answer a flame is not with another. Because that just leads to karma decreases, locked topics, and a generally unfriendly web board. I have been to a lot of online forums where people get jumped on for showing a little too much emotion on a board, and it's very annoying. Reasoning and understanding generally goes a lot farther.

TSB, Jules does have a point, and sometimes you do post messages asking a lot from people who you really aren't working with. Like he said, it is best to assemble a development team (like I have) and get them to do the work for you that you don't understand. It's a lot easier than making a post on a board everytime you need an individual job done for you.

    • Well, none of my friends here like the game. (Well, th don't have Macs anyway.) And I don't know a lot of people here real well besides Joe Burnette, you kinda, Luke, and Max Smethurst a tad. Oh and Captain Skyblade and Mac.

Hmm, I guess I do know a lot of people. But lots of thm are busy with their own thing I'm sure.

So, forming a Development Team isn't as easy as you think.

    • Actually, on these boards, it is surprisingly easy. I started a topic and within 2-3 days I had 3 people ready and willing to make graphics, missions, and spobs for free.

Hey, what is the plot of your plugin?

Could I recommend then starting a new topic asking whether there was anyone with particular skills (eg. graphics, res-edit, etc) that would like to start working together as a development team in order to make a plug-in. That way you would be able to get to know new people on the board and get your plug-in finished quicker. Your strengths seem to be storylines and stuff like that.
