no, it's the first version. we felt real nostalgic one day and decided to give it to everyone cause we know how much you guys like the custom nilobjectexception routines that were installed.
the next version will be able to connect to the internet and downgrade itself even further.

it doesn't look like ev because the ships are helians. helians are from evo, but i'm sure you knew that.
it's only a test. i guess i forgot to mention that. it's a test for a bunch of classes and interfaces which will be used in creating a network version of evo.
as for the speed...i use a powermac 6200/75. no prizes for guessing what the answer is. i'll fix the code up soon. there's no real work involved, i'm just lazy.

if your using sprite surfaces you have to make shure it's set to run at 30 fps and not 0 were it goes as fast as possible. Which it apears to be set at.

Right now, this game is, well... Unplayable. It has a lot of potential, though. If you can make the cannons shoot farther, the ships controllable and the preferences useable, it would be great fun. When will you have a new version that fixes some, if not all, of these problems?

i think another rewrite will be in order. not sure exactly why, programmers intuition. think i'll get in touch wit the java guru somewhere else on the board. java and macos=bad, java and osx=smeggin' fantabulous.

On a slightly similar note, i hope everyone noticed the cool 3D junk that got acquired by realbasic 3.5
think i might grab those evo 3d models and whip up some 3d evo paradigm.
i know it's been asked a zillion times but, what's the easiest, cheapest way of converting those models to quickdraw 3d?

Try making them into a PICT file. That might work.

I hate when people misuse the word "paradigm". Unless you're talking about Kuhn or philosophy of science, you've no business using it.

Paradigm first appeared in English in the 15th century (considerably predating The Structure of Scientific Revolutions ), meaning "an example or pattern," and it still fits this meaning today: "Their company is a paradigm of the small high-tech firms that have recently sprung up in this area."
For nearly 400 years paradigm has also been applied to patterns of inflections that are used to sort the verbs, nouns, and other parts of speech of a language into groups that are more easily studied.
Only since the 1960s has paradigm been used in science to refer to a theoretical framework, as when Nobel Laureate David Baltimore cited the work of two colleagues that "really established a new paradigm for our understanding of the causation of cancer."
Thomas Kuhn doesn't own the word. And neither do you.
