Actually, I've given a lot of thought to making persMaker able to handle EV pilot files. Right now, my subroutines use the TMPL resources provided with EVO to correctly parse the resources. This gives me a great deal of flexability in that I can change how persMaker reads a resource by swaping TMPLs around. I haven't tested it, but my subroutines should read EV or EVO resources fine, as long as you have the correct TMPLs installed.
The problem is the pilot file. The pilot files are encrypted and have more data in them than a TMPL resource can handle. I'm playing with some pseudoTMPL resources that'll maybe let me correctly parse pilot files from EV or EVO.
As for whether I've thought about moving things over for Nova...I've thought about it, but it'd rely on two things. First, Ambrosia/mburch would have to be willing to share the new pilot file spec sheet. The second depends on whether Nova's pilot files will be encrypted. I'm assuming they will be, so I'd have to find out from Ambrosia/mburch how they are encrypting the file. If it's the same encryption method and key they used for EV and EVO, I'd be able to decrypt them with little problem. If it's a different method/key, it might be a while. Besides, I'm assuming EVN's pilot file resource fork is going to be a lot more complicated.
On top of all this, I'm unwilling to ask mburch for the spec sheet or info on the encryption method right now. He's busy chasing bugs out of EVN while being bombarded by questions about the game.
Simply put, I don't want to add to his misery.
If, however, el Presidente happens to read this and is willing to provide info, I'd be more than willing to accept it.

This has been quite useful. I've identified a few bugs using these pilots. Thanks.
