      I need a nice,concise,good-quality jpeg or similar map of the EV galaxy.
      Not the EV Developer's map:just something I can fool about with using Appleworks.
      Can anyone help me?

      Your best hope is to open up EV Developer's Map, set it to a magnification where you can see all of the systems, and take a screenshot (command-shift-3, or command-shift-4 and select the part you want to take).

      Use Graphic Converter to "mess arround with it" (its cheap and does the job better then Appleworks) and it'll also let you convert it to any of dozens and dozens of formats, not only jpg or gif.

      A while ago I made a package of EV and Override maps. The package is about 430 K, and contains:

      • A standard map of the EV galaxy like the one displayed in the Map window (834x696 pixels)

      • A standard map of the EVO galaxy (860x807 pixels)

      • A political map of the EV galaxy with the systems marked in the colour of the government that owns them (834x696 pixels)

      • A political map of the EVO galaxy (867x807 pixels)

      • Black and white maps of the EV and EVO galaxies (751x637 pixels and 860x807 pixels)

      • Black and white vectorised Appleworks Draw documents of the EV and EVO maps (suitable for printing at any size)

      I'll post this as soon as I get some working server space, but I can email it to you if you want it.

      EV/O developers map has a "save galaxy to pict" option.. just use that, eh?

      That's what I used, only with a little manipulation afterwards.
