      i have recently started learning dreamweaver 2 and this is also my first experience at the desighn of a web page. i have all the typed information i want on it. but i put a music track i recorded on it and when i opend it in netscape it did not play. so my questions are as follows...
      1-how do i make it automaticly play wehn the site is laoded?
      2-how do i make it repeat.
      3-when i added it it appeared on the page, how do i make it invisible?

      those are the questions i have on that, can you please not tell me in code as i do not know it yet, but rather give me detailed directions on how to do this. thankyou ahead of time.

      and my final question. their is a website that i have been trying to remember but i lost the link. it is an online graphics website thta allows you to custom make them online. i need this website to continue with my page, yet i cant find it and am not sure what the link is. it was posted here a while ago, so it is prolly still known on this board.

      this is wraith sighning out. thankyou ahead of time.

    • I would just use quicktime.

      Autoplay=true
      showcontroller=false
      loop=true

      Quicktime will play and loop the music automaticlly in the background. It also supports pretty much any format including MP3 and MIDI.

    • Argh! For learning, fine, for a real web page, dont. Nothing ruins a web page more than unwanted sound.

      Anyway, in IE only, use the <BGSOUND> tag, I think it's <BGSOUND src="/path/to/music" loop="infinite">, for NS you can either use <***** > or <M-E-T-A> (without the -'s), to use m-e-t-a put <m-e-t-a http-equiv="refresh" content="10;/path/to/music/>, where 10 is the delay in seconds, or <***** src="/path/to/music" hidden="true" autostart="true" loop="true">

      You don't. Unless you want your viewers to instantly press the back button. Or the close button. Or the trigger on the gun pointed at your head.

      Trust me -- they suck. I like to listen to MP3s pretty much constantly while at my computer, unless I'm playing a game. If I suddenly hear your little song interfering with my preferred music, I'm gonna hit the close button (not even the back button) pretty much instantly.

      Even worse, you don't even give people the option of turning it off! Dude, run, don't walk, to the nearest bookstore and buy a copy of Webpages That Suck.
