    • EVES new image...

Before all the hell broke loose here on the East Coast yesterday I had managed to get some 3-D work done in the wee hours of the morning. Then at 9 AM eastern time a new chapter in U.S. history began...

Here's the picture of one of the newly redone 3-D models for EVES for EVN. One small bit of good news from a rattled East Coast. I live in PA where one of the planes crashed...

Depending on your browser cache you might see the old 4 ship picture if so refresh the page or try deleting your browser's cache.

    • Dang. Cool. Very insect-like with the antennae, but still like the original concept. Are those antennae multiple segment objects strung together, and if so, did you position them by hand? If they are one object each, how'd you get them to behave with the curving?

      Glad to hear you're alright.

    • Very cool. You should post a larger version of this in the Image Gallery. It's a good model, and in a lot better taste than certain other images I could mention. I really suck at making alien ships myself, but you seem to have a talent for it. I also live in PA, and am close to the crash site.

    • very nice. Glad to see the project is still on; for the longest time it seemed to have dropped off the face of the earth. My only criticism is that the pict looks sorta glossy for an organic ship.

I think so, Brain, but if they called them sad meals, kids wouldn't buy them.

Yes, but aren't insect carapaces shiny??? They are essentially highly advanced and carefully breed insects... Yes - the Klaxion ships are big bugs...

The "Sensors", "Feelers", or whatever you want to call them are segmented constructions composed each of over 40 objects, not sure just how many more. And the adjustments are made by hand and then tuned by using the object's setting window to set the angles to specific degrees. Time consuming, but I thnk the results look nice.

    • Cool ship, as usually all the alien spacecrafts made by you. Glad to here that you still working on EVES.

Yes shiny, but not glossy. They seem to distort light a bit, giving it a rainbow-ish hue. Still, I don't think anybody's going to complain... I've always been a big fan of your picts, and considered using the stuff in the shipyard for a plug of my own, only I
realized the plug wouldn't do the graphics justice.
