One:

How do I change a .psd file to a .jpg? When I went to save the image that I made, the only choice available was a .psd file without any other options.

Also how do I display an image from my hard drive into html code? My html class says that just typing <img src="imagename.jpg"> will display the image. But I have a feeling there's more to it because everytime I do so, the image doesn't show. any problem with this?

Last thing. I want to make a white spray around a circle (My main image) but without getting any of the spray on the circle. So is the a lasso tool (or something like this) that displays all marks except what's in the lasso?

Well, there are a couple ways of doing this.

1: click on the FILE menu and move the cursor down, to select the option, save for web.
2: click on the LAYER menu and move the cursor down and select the option flatten image. Then you can goto the FILE menu and save as. All the options should, then, be available.

Alright... Here's a little checklist, for you:

1: make sure that the image you wish to see on your page is in the same folder as the .html file.
2: for web-viewing purposes, all file names should be lower-cased.

That's all there is to it. If you decide to use Netscape Communicator, it makes things so much easier...

Ah... Yes. Here's what you can do (assuming that the circle is a layer of it's own):

1: select the layer with the circle on it
2: select all
3: select the MOVE tool (from the tool palette)
4: press your left-arrow-key
5: then press your right-arrow-key. That should move you're newly selected section back to where it was originally...
6: create a new layer
7: click on the SELECT menu and move the cursor down to inverse

Now you have a selected area, that is not the circle, to paint your spray.

Better yet, simply command-click on the layer in question. Then, if the circle was not the only shape on the layer, use the lasso and hold option while dragging a selection to remove unwanted parts. Then invert the selection (command-shift-I if memory serves).
