      My memory sucks: who was it that was suggesting remaking the old Babylon 5 plugin for EVN?

      And another point about the conversion: would the EVN plug be based on the old one, or a complete rebuild? I know the old B5 plug was pretty good, but it had a couple of annoying bugs that we wouldn't want to keep. Oh, and no desc text. 🙂

    • I, among others I think, am doing a B5 plug. It is a complete rebuild. I have a little over a hundred ships already and will be making about sixty more. I have sampled most of the sound effects from the show and have the music as well. Another friend of mine, who was also interested in doing the plug, is now working with me and making all the missions. At this point we are undecided wether or not to simply follow the original plug and have missions for the army of light and the shadows, which would significantly cut down the plug development time, or to go all out and do missions for all the major races and the Rangers and IPX and Psicorp and the Raiders and the Drakh and the rogue telepaths and Nightwatch and Mars resistance and Edgars Industries and anyone else we can think of. There are so many cool things that can be done with Nova it's just silly. I personally am leaning towards going all out but that would also mean two+ years of work. Even more if I get distracted playing the standard Nova scenario. I hope that answered your question. Forgot to give thanks to Chris Cox for giving me a scan of an official, more or less, map of the B5 universe. It should prove invaluable to the positioning of the govts among other things.

      I've got a load of other stuff about B5 which might come in useful somewhere, so if you're short of info of any kind, drop me a mail and I'll see what I can do. Come to think of it, if you want any more help with the plug itself, I'd be happy to lend a hand...

    • Oh yeah. Duh. It's been so long since the last thread that I forgot who made that post about the map. Sephyr, I'll remember that. I think we'll be in the planning stage for quite awhile. Once Nova is done and Dr Ralph's Nova tools are out and I have a copy of the finalized Nova bible things should speed up. I still have your email and may be dropping you a line in the future. Someday you may come to regret offering to pitch in, but in the meantime I'll see how far and fast my friend and I can go ourselves. Aha! I just remembered another one. The Strieb. That could be an interesting mission set. (Kosh voice) "Yes"

    • Dinoman and a few other guys on our team have done some substantial work on B5 TC for EVN, too. Why don't you try and join up, somehow? It might make production a little faster.

    • I think we ought to pool our resources as much as possible. As you say, the more of us there are working on this, the sooner it'll be done: or perhaps the more of the initial ideas will make it to the final version.

      Just out of interest, Guyman, what are the hundred ships you've got planned so far? Are you planning on making ships for all of the races, even the small ones in the League. Although that would involve a lot of work (I can see the days of rendering now!), it would be so cool...

      I can set up a forum on the Area 21 page where we can post ideas and images and such. A private board, only for the developers. It might be helpful. A good way of communicating... It would only take me a couple minutes to set it up.

Minbari: Fighter, flyer, Sharlin warcruiser, Tinashi cruiser, station. Centauri: Base, Primus battlecruiser, sentry fighter, freighter, Balvarin carrier, blockade mine, Vorchan battle cruiser, Conran fighters. Narn: G'Quan heavy cruiser, base, outpost, heavy fighter, Bin'Tak cruiser, defense platform, Th'Nor and T'Loth class, Tor'Eth class, shokar, Gorith heavy bomber, Kutai gunship(can't remember who this belongs to it could be Centauri or Narn). Vree: Saucer and Xorr battle saucer. Brakiri: classic cruiser, Tashkat cruiser, Riva fighter. Drazi: Sunhawk, Sky serpent. Raiders: Carrier and fighter. I also plan to make quite a few others, not listed here, to flush out the deficiency in numbers of some of the smaller govts. And a forum at Area 21 sounds good. I wouldn't mind hearing how other projects are progressing.
