Yes, thats right, as youve seen in the topic, I am departing, which is hard for me. In the (getting to be) 4 years that Ive been here, Ive only ever tried to leave once, and that wasnt very successful. You come back, people always come back, at one point or another.
Well, I guess I wont be any different, but as of right now, I believe I need to focus on a few things in real life, so much more so than these boards or IRC. I am going to be entering college soon, I have a business Id actually like to try and run, and well, theres always the subject of women (perhaps I wont have to worry about that in a little bit).
So, here is what I am about to do: I am going to disassociate myself from the Ambrosia Webboards and the irc channels for 2 weeks. For the next 2 weeks I will be completely out of it, you wont see a single post nor a single sign on in irc (unless its an absolute emergency that I need to use irc, but I doubt it). After these two weeks are up (a LOA, if you please) I will evaluate what I have acomplished and what is going on in my life. If things are doing okay, and it looks like I can manage my time wisely and still keep my good fortune, than I shall come back. If not, Ill wait another 2 weeks, and life goes on.
Do no disparage, I am not cutting myself off completely from the virtual world, its just that I spend a lot more time looking at the boards and just sitting on irc than I should, and until I can manage my time better, Im not going to fight with it anymore, I DO have more important things to do. But Ill still always be on IM (Markaz2001, if anyone wants to chat, I have no problem with that), and Ill still be doing some work around certain RPGs (web development work and all). Ill also still be playing all the old favorite AS games (and testing a few, if Im lucky, hehe), but Im just deciding to cut the cord with the boards and the channels for now.
So, what can I say. Its been fun. Its an odd situation, for you see, half of me know me as this guy that posts once in a while and is a fairly old oldie (if you wish to use those terms), and the other half know me a whole lot better, from a time when none of this existed. To be quite frank, if you had told me the EV community would look like this when I first joined it way back when, Id call you nuts. I mean, just look around all the memories.
Finally, I guess Id just like to say to all of you that dont really know me, that Id like you to try a find a person whos been around for as long as time, has contributed as much as myself, or done as many things as I have. You might find a few, but you wont find a lot. These games, this community, has meant a lot to me, and Id like to think my efforts to contribute to it have been successful.
