I've been wanting to be a game programer or something along that line for I don't know how many years. All I'm saying is: I need all the info. i can get on how to make plug-ins for EV. I want to learn how to alter the graphics and perty much most of the game. If you can tell me what i need and what I do to make cheat plug-ins for EV please respond.

You need a copy of ResEdit and the EVO Bible. Read the bible until you understand it. Even then, keep it around, you'll need reference. It gives you an intro to using ResEdit to make plugins. You could also use EVEdit, but it's incredibly buggy. There are a few other utilities that you should use with ResEdit, but you should know how to use ResEdit. Basically: to learn how to make one, read the EVO bible. I'm working on and off on a newbie-oriented tutorial to making plugins, but I have only finished the introduction, and a part on making governments.

I also recommend downloading (and reading) the EVO Bible Annotated Edition. It provides notes and commentary not included in the original Bible.

I can't believe that you recommend reading the EV Bible. Read the section about what you are working on and forget the rest until you come to that! I wonder just how confused you would be if the first thing you did was read it!

basically, the EV/EV:O bible tells you everything about every resource. Be careful though - not all resources work, notably FailBitSet.

As for your original question - to make a cheat plugin you open the EVO Data files in resedit, copy across the relevent resources to a new file, change the bits you want to (all the info on the resources are in the bible) and save it with the correct creator/file types.

I'm also interested in creating plugs for EVO only. Well, I've got the bible and Resedit. I've gotten rid of EV-edit. Are there any other utilities or websites to aid me further available?
