    • Yellow Beam Bug?

I can't seem to make a (fixed forward) yellow beam weapon with a one-pixel width. If I change the color to, for example, blue, then it works fine.

Does anybody have any notion of how to fix this?
Does anybody else even get this problem?

    • There was a similar bug in EVO 1.0.1 with the Phased Beam. I believe what was wrong was they had set the inacuracy field to 0 where it needed to be set to 1. Otherwise, I would just copy the Phased Beam from the EVO 1.0.2 Data files and then just make the changes to make it into your beam.

    • That doesn't help - I can get it to be yellow just fine, I just can't make it have a one pixel thickness.

In other words: take a (non-yellow, though I haven't tried all other colors) beam weapon, and set proxradius to one. Look at it in game. Now set the color to yellow. Look at it in game. The yellow beam is much thicker.

    • Take a closer look: those beams are thicker than one pixel. I'm not saying that yellow beams don't work - I'm saying that I can't make them have a thickness of one pixel, like I can with every other color I've tried (though I'll admit, I haven't tested all the possible colors).

Are you sure about that? There is a well-known optical illusion that brighter things look bigger than darker ones, which would apply to yellow vs. blue (etc.) beams. I can't take a closer look, since I can't access GraphicConverter or some other image editor, but I suspect those beams ARE, in fact, 1 pixel wide.

    • Ok I've taken a closer look in a graphics program, and you're right. Unfortunately, that doesn't help me, since what I wanted was a thinner looking beam - I don't really care what the actual thickness is. I'll just have to make do with what I have, then. Pity. Maybe in EVN...

Well, I guess we better make sure EVN has anti-aliased beams! 😉

That probably wouldn't help. What we really need is a better scale.
