      I have a quick question, is Infini-D 2.6 any good? I know that there is a 4.5 but is the older one almost as good.

      i doubt if its as good, or near, its probably pretty primitive compared to 4.5.

      Wow . . . 2.6? The 1st one I used was 3.something-or-other

      I assume it has the basic features - primatives, extrudes, lathes etc., and a decent enough texturing system.

      It should be fine for modeling, expecially ship sprites for EV graphics, but don't expect highly complex modeling or any special effects, those are all in later verisons (like 4.5). But Infini-D is discontinued now so . . . we are all kinda screwed.

      I recomend it, I think its an easy program to get to grips with and get results fast, but that's just my opinion.

      Okay, so if I have a choice between Infini-D 2.6, Mechanisto, Strata 3D, and Strata Vision 4.0, which one would be the best choice?

      Either Infini-D or StrataVision, I'd use infini-d probably.

      I use a mixture of StrataVision and Strata 3D. StrataVisoin has more modeling features but Strata 3D has a better renderer. As they are both by the same company, they are compatible.
