    • Dumb Question

Okay, here it is. I'm making my first really involved plug-in with new systems, dudes, etc. I'm making a spöd and here comes the stupid question. Where do I find the difference between the ID# and the index#? I'm using ResEdit on this, btw.

      stuff, okay?!

    • Hmmm...I'm not sure. Seems like I've had similar problems finding certain things in ResEdit as well. Sorry!

    • If anyone knows an editing program that -could- tell me and that isn't so bug-ridden it messes up my other resources, I'll gladly grab that.

generally, index numbers range from 0 to N and ID numbers range from 128 to 128+N.

      it's a MacOS Resource Manager thing, don't ask. 🙂

    • Oh! okay, that makes sense now.. We clueless need it spelled out like that as opposed to the cryptic bits in the EV Bible. Thanks so much, I'll see if that works. 🙂

    • The index number is the resource ID number minus 128.

Unfortunately, it's also the system through which Mission Control reads and displays missions, which doesn't make much sense since developers generally edit through resource ids in ResEdit.

    • So, the idea is, I guess, that most editors go by index number and ResEdit by ID#, so always know what the range is by the Bible?

So I take it this means you don't have a ratchet...
