    • Gather around EV:N enthusiasts!...

      Hi,
Since the people on the regular EV:N board can't seem to stop from posting spam rolls eyes, I'm turning to this board.
I had in mind for a TC plug-in for EV:N. Sure, we have no idea what it'll be like (EV:N that is), but lots can still be done while we wait for it's release.
First of all, I need musician's. Amateur or not, as long as you have commen sense and an ambition for the love of music (plus not to mention a little skill), then I'm looking for you.
Second, I need a back-up graphics artist. Someone that also works with lightwave 5.6 or close, like me, that has at least a commen grasp of how to use the program. I'm not expecting for them to make all the graphics, considering I'll be making most of them, but it would be nice for help on whatever specifics they're good at. Plus, I might need the help of someone to texture my stuff (that's one of my main flaws).
Thirdly, I could use a person to help brainstorm new ideas (I already have the main theme down, but specifics need to be added), and you know the saying, two heads are better than one, right?
And lastly, anyone that thinks they can make a difference.
So, if you think you fall into any of those categories, please, let me know, and we'll have a little chat.
Be forwarned, this isn't the simple "frozen heart" style plug-in... this one's going all out. I'm talking like 650 meg file size kinda deals here. You know, Final Fantasy quality.

      So, drop me a line.

    • well i know one thing for sure, its not going to be final fantasy quality.

    • How on earth will ANYONE download that?!
plus it sounds like a bit of work... Plus I'm gonna play NOVA first and then download some plugs.. TC already... and Nova hasn't even come out yet teehee

    • There's nothing wrong with already starting on an EVN TC. After all, MadFax7 and I are working on Rift. But 650 meg? How would you get it up that high? Really, that would be PAST pushing it to its limits.

    • Hmmm. I'm thinking 'obscenely long' movies as the only way you will ever buffer out an EVN plug to that size...

    • 650 megs is nothing....

i've made movies with 320x240 resolution that last 2 seconds long that are 10 megs 😛

plus, you add in music, sounds, ship graphic animations, background pics, description pics, mission pics, on man i could fill up 2 cd's easily!

the missions and stuff only take like 3k 😛

but it's everything else that consumes room like a mofo

And for what computers are you targetting this for? Seriously, how many CD players can play QT movies at 5megs/sec. I can tell you, NOT MANY. 650megs would be a whopping to fill and if your not going to compress your images and QT movies, no body is going to download your work. I'll compress it for you if need be and redistribute it.

    • thanks for teh offer, but no thanks. i already have media cleaner pro and adobe premiere, both which compress video just fine. i was just exaggerating when i said 2 second movies that were 10 megs (that was before compression and what not 😛 )

and deadboy, whether you're newbie or not, i didn't want to result in calling you idiot or something of that nature. but like i said, don't doubt me, it's getting old.

    • I'm pretty good at coming up with ideas, but I can't do graphics. If you would help me with one of my projects, I could also help with programming. Either way, i could help you brainstorming. E-mail me if your interested.

    • Sorry Jeremy, but I won't even TRY downloading your plug when it comes out...
      Downloading 650 Megs with 5 K/s
      WAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Well, good luck anyway newbie to the modern internet

Oh yeah, how can you already start programing Nova plugs when it's not even out yet?

    • I admire your... dedication... but if you're going to attempt something like that, don't be so goddamed snobby! Get your nose out of the air, please. Calling Deadboy a newbie was pretty funny... Anyway, unless you have a reputation for greatness (if you do, I was unaware), you don't have reason to brag aout anything. And this includes making large (in file size) movies.... and really now, I thought we all knew that when it comes to movies, shortness+file size is not equal to quality... at least you cleared that up. Well, enough ranting for me.

    • Yeah...
I don't know your qualities (I have nothing to brag for, I pretty much suck) bug 650 Megs is a bit over the line, don't you think?
