Is there a program something like the EV Developer's Map for Override? I really like that program, but I work with EVO plugs now, and I'd like a program that helps me make maps for EVO.

There is actually, but it is really the same program. People refer to the systems editor for Override as "EVO developer's Map," when it is really the same thing as EV Developer's Map. All you need to do to make EV Developer's Map work for Override is to fool the program into thinking that the Override data files are really EV data files. To make the program allow you to edit the Override universe, do the following: Make an alies of the "Override Graphics" and "Override Data 2" and drag them into your developer's folder. Now rename the "Override Graphics" file as "EV Graphics." Then rename the "Override Data 2" as "EV Data." If you name them exactly like that, then the program will run using the Override data files. Hope that works!

Actually, (url="http://"http://members01.chello.se/warlordpontus/ev/tools.html#evdm")EV Developer's Map(/url) and (url="http://"http://members01.chello.se/warlordpontus/ev/evomap.html")EVO Developer's Map(/url) are separate programs. One could think I've made an active effort to keep EVO Devmap secret, since so few people seem to know about it.

Well it doesn't help that it isn't available on the addons page, maybe you should put it on there.

You guys are missing out on some great software! I've used EVO Dev Map ever since it came out, creating and editing over 300 systems and their spobs. I highly recommend this program, it is the EVO map editor.

Your web site lists EVO Developer's Map as being for EV as well as EVO. What do you have to do to make it run with EV? When I try to run the program it only asks for the location of EVO files.
Thanks..

EVO Developer's Map is simply the best stellar editor in existence. 'Nuff said.

So you made EVO Dev. map? Great job! It's the only editor(other than Res-Edit) that lives up to my standards, thus the only one I use.

It won't ask for the EV files unless you try to open an EV plug-in.

Okay... well, I guess that means that I have to install EVO in order to launch Developer's Map. I don't have EVO installed right now so I can't point the program to any files when it asks for them at launch. Then the program just quits.
Thanks...I appreciate the reply.

No, just click "Cancel" as it asks for each file. Assuming you are editing something, it should still work.

Just to confirm what others have said, EVO Developers map is a utility of the highest quality, one which I use for all of my stellar/system editiong needs.

When I first tried the program, that's what I did. When it finished asking for EVO files it put up a blank map for about a half second or so and then quit. After I installed EVO it did the same thing. Turned out that I needed to increase the memory partition. Then it ran fine.
I haven't had a chance to really work with it but from what I've seen, it's a really nice program. I look forward to using it.
