    • Writing Services Offered

      Hey...
I'm very much interested in working on some EV/EVO plugins, but I have no experience with 3D art and not enough attention span to work out the over-all design... (mission design, etc.)... However, I'd like to offer my services as a writer... I like to think I'm half-decent, and I think it could be fun... If you want to see a few samples, go to chimera.blogspot.com.

      Hope to hear from somebody...

    • If I wish to make a realy epic plug I now know who to ask for when I don't know the right way to say something.

Your work is a pity not to see. It truly is.

Just to let you know, the vast majority of writing in EVO is in the missions, so if you don't have enough attention span for that you'd be writing planet and bar descriptions, which is more of a chore than a fun writing assignment.

    • I doubt if many plug developers would feel like giving even part of 'their' government descriptions to other people... someone might be willing to give you an entire government, but then you'd prbbly have to be willing to do the missions too 😄

Actually, if you look Here and go to the bottom of the page, it says:

If there is a fictional back-story to your plugin, post it to the EV/EVO Chronicles (and have the story mention where they can get the plugin in the header and footer of the story): EV/EVO: http://www.ambrosiaS...chronicles.html

So, you could offer your writing services in creating a story background for someone elses plug.

Unfortunate, I like to write and am a pretty good writer, so I couldn't exactly use your services at the moment (unless I get really busy and can't write).

    • Prior to writing my own plug-in, I offered my services on the old EV Board as a proof reader. I ended up proof-reading plug-checker and proofing and text-editing Clavius and Beyond. Then Vincent Bernard asked me to proof and rewrite Oreste (then Battle Velocity).

These were crucial for me in learning the trade of plugin writing — even down to the knack of getting the story into screen sized chunks (before the days of playing around with the size).

I heartily commend you for putting your writing skills at the service of the EV/O community — poor writing marrs many a good plugin, and having someone on board who is willing to just write should be something any designer should welcome.

PS I think that writing bar descriptions is easily one of the more exciting parts.
