In response to the enthusiastic response to the earlier ship pics I posted, I decided, as my holiday contribution to fellow EVO'ers(and as a publicity stunt for my plug ;)), to make and give away a ship plug created especially for the holidays.

"Waypoint One" - Here, a Liberty ship drops off food cargo to a starving fringe Terran world on its way to meet up with a larger convoy of L1A's. Though dangerous this far from Terran and Ruun protection, many terran freight captains risk their lives to deliver needed goods to the struggling Human colonies.

"This Is No Race" - On the Naaxian's watery world of Hutura, a Crai' scoutship is caught in the act delivering contraband to Crai' symapthizers and is run off by an especially mean Naaxian scout captain(not that they're at all nice).

"Schematic" - Here is a schematic view of the Ruun's brand new ship of the line. Equipped with technology such as the powerful Splitter weapon and a skin composed entirely of nano-robotic machines, the Gwathong is truly a work of art and a technological miracle. This is especially so when compared to their other ships.

"The Fold" - A lone Crai' scoutship prepares to enter the void that is a subspace fold. Most ships use these folds for faster than light travel, but the Crai' have the unique ability of suspending their ships there, allowing them a near impervious hiding place.

Back to the giveaway:

The way this will be done is I will, over the course of the next few days, present about 20 or so of the models I have for viewing, then people will vote here as to which one they'd like to see a plug made of. Then a plug will be made of it, and posted to the addons page before New Years Eve.

Said plug will feature missions designed to integrate the ship into the EVO universe(of which it is not a part), as well as outfits designed specifically for it(available randomely), characters(pers) flying in runner up ships, and(of course) the ships themselves. The ships(top three) would be free for any plug-making so long as I get the obvious credit.

A special bonus for Mechanisto users would be a model of the ship(included with every plug).

So get to voting, New Years Eve is just around the corner.

Actually, I was hoping for a Santa Claus plugin. Could be an elect branch of the Stellar Corp. Once your rating is good enough, you get recruited and get to fly the Sleigh: a specially designed ship(cloaking device, large cargo bay etc, etc). Maybe it just looks like a can of whoop-ass. You're given a series of missions to deliver gifts to all of the human worlds (including Renegades) in under 1 month (starting 1 December and ending 31 December). Describing this makes me think of Harlen Ellison's story "Santa vs S.P.I.D.E.R" (or something like that. Santa kicked ass!)

There could be a whole bunch of Pers operatives with cool code names that show up to help: Tiny Tim, Jacob Marley, Ebineezer?sp? Scrooge, Frosty, the Abominable Snowman, etc. Each of them has an appropriately whoop-ass weapon, of course. Maybe Scrooge's ship shoots frozen turkeys.... Nothing destructive, but maybe weapons that cause no damage but really push ships away. Oh! You could use the tribble flag and have a supply of milk and cookies keep filling up your hold (because you can't possibly eat and drink it all).

Who are the enemies in the mission string? I'm not sure. Maybe various local govts that want to charge a tarrif on the goods you're delivering for free? Naaaa. Too serious. Should be something random. Maybe sentient cows, angry about the enslavement of their cousins to supply milk? Maybe a militant faction protesting the forced labor of elves? That's it! The elves are struggling to form a union:Little-people Against Brutal Industrial Arrangements (L.A.B.I.A)

PS:The Fold image looks really nice :). Give it a red and white colour, and I can see Santa cruising around in it.

I need to know what ships people are voting specifically for, rather than just the pic they like. I getting hard to tell if people are voting at all. I know it's an inefficient system(compared to say, R&R;'s ship contest), but I am on borrowed time.

Unless you're 100% sure the ship you've picked is the one you want in a plug , I'd suggest holding your vote until all are put up(by at least Tuesday).

The actual plug is mostly done(i.e. misns, ships, outfs, etc.), I just need to put in the PICTs, which is where you come in.

seant , I would do the Santa thing, but seeing as this is a "Holiday" rather than a "Christmas" plug, I don't want to pin a specific Holiday on it. I will do something New Years related though.

PS: I'm still considered Santa(I don't really know yet), but rest assured, you will be suprised.
