    • Quick questions on EV3...

EV3 sounds amazing. I just have one question, what are the system requirements going to be?

    • I saw the system requirements a while ago, must find them again.....

From what I remember though it will be able to run on 68k mac, you can run it in 256 colours(8-bit) and you need quicktime installed although you can turn the movies off.

Nothing is written in stone yet; we have no idea what the final system requirements will be; anything you read was merely speculation.

There's no point in worrying about it now, anyway -- wait until it's in beta.

I didn't say they were written in stone, I reckon they'll stay roughly the same, maybe be PPC only though.

are you sure? cause plugs with large sprites'll slow down anything short of a G3 in a big battle. and though i have alot of (RAM 516MB :D) i really want to know how much space it'll take up. it still won't be 100megs unless they decide to use the EV3 engine to the fullest from the begining i'm guessing. since you can have 16bit graphics and alot more ships, planets, etc...

Matt Burch has apparently improved the engine a lot, not only feature wise but also so that it runs better on older machines, granted it might take a long time to load, but in the game you can always crank up the speed so it runs smoother.
