    • Ignored Fields

In making my plug-in, I set government 128 to be human and 129 to be merchants. Not having created other races' space or anything yet, I didn't set the human government's enemy to the race it will eventually be.

When I tested it after these modifications, humans opened fire on traders (probably because I ignored the governments' enemy fields and 129 is "normally" Voinians). I fixed this problem by reordering the governments and setting up the appropriate resources for future ones.

I'm about to start creating simple trading missions (I'll need to write almost 100 of them... a lot of copy and paste, of course). I need to know if the same problem will crop up with special ships and such, and if it will, what corrections I can make to stop this (VERY annoying) problem from happening, aside from starting my mission resources at a number greater than 385 (EVO's last mission number... excluding the "pay fine" one).

FYI, I'm using ResEdit (of course) and EVO 1.0.2.

Ok. I'm gonna assume that you're re-writing over the standard stuff...correct? Well, if so, then you'll have to re-check all mission bits and descriptions for accuracy while you're doing so. They have to be on the correct mission. Also, you'll have to go through all of the missions and check which go with which. Say you want to write over the Voinian string, then you search down all of the Voinian missions and change the descriptions, aux ships, other ships, etc. Just be sure you don't mix up the mission bits and get differnt missions during the wrong times. good luck. PEACE YO!
