Hey, I need some names or classes for ships, i already have a few:
fighter
interceptor
cruiser
bomber
gunboat
gunship
transport
Assault transport
carrier
corvette
escort
frigate
destroyer
battledestroyer
Freighter
courier
shuttler
I need some more ship names...

No offense, Admiral, but those names are more types of ships. Anyone will tell you that you need catchy names like Zephyr (yeah shade that's yours), and nighthawk, and avenger etc...
Try getting a thesaurus, looking up words like attack, and getting synonyms like Conqueror, Obliterator, or antonyms like Guardian or Vindicator. Do that for heaps of war-type words.. You'd be amazed what you can get.
Or I could tell you a bunch of great names that I have but I won't cuz I'll probably need them...

Yeah, or use something from another lauguage. Akula, for example. But I'm using that in one of my plug-ins, so don't touch it! Just think up something else.

NO! what i am talking about is classes of ships, not individual names, (although my original post said to) and I DID look in the thesaurus but they had nothing on class-like ships.

Patroller, Defender, Scout/Scouter/Scoutship, Dropship (for planetary assaults)
A suggestion: take the action (ex. defends planets and stations) and find the adjective of it (Defender).

Heavy destroyer sounds better than battledestroyer, use that instead. Some others

Heavy Tanker
Check out games like Homeworld, Star Trek, Star Wars and Babylon 5 for other classes of ships
