      Tired of bad plots, horrible graphics and buggy plugs? Well, GWII is now SELLING OUT!

      Yes, that means that from now on I will be asking for YOUR opinions on EVERYTHING big on GWII, right in this area to. I will simply ask a question (usually a brain stormed idea) and anyone from a 'professional' plug maker like Pipeline 😉 to someone brand new to EVO can list their opinions. I don't care how long or short, how mean or nice it is either! Criticism is MUCH wanted, feel free to knock down ideas, remember 50% of brainstormed ideas SUCK!

      Today's topic, the Emalgha (who are the only govt not fully 'plotted' out yet). Comment on EVERYTHING!

      I gave them a very good anti-Voinian ship. Its like the Warship, except a little bigger, its main feature is an Emalgha bay which holds 4 fighters. Because it is Emalgha, its primative and it sucks. HOWEVER when it attacks a frigate with its 4 fighters it is amazing. I can take out a Voinian Cruiser with it (though an AI cant)

      Now I can't decide what to call it, I thought perhaps I might also add the bay to an upgraded freightor, thus making the Emalgha Carrier (since carring and shooting is all it could do...). The other BIGGER ship could be called (laughably) the Emalgha Cruiser. Honestly, I love my new ship...

      The Emalgha are only good when it comes to numbers, so thats why I think a carrier and Cruiser would be more helpful then some tougher, beefer ship with alot of weapons.

      I also thought it might be interesting to have a UE station in between that long voyage from the last UE station to Kelmaon, kinda like a good relations thing... I also thought it might be neat to give the Emalgha (outfit planets) tech level #10. This would give them the Hunter missle and launcher, which I could make standard on the new Carriers and/or Cruisers.

    • Hmmm, see with EV it was simple, govt ships took on Navy names:
      Patrol Ship
      Scout Ship
      Gunboat
      Frigate
      Destroyer
      Carrier
      Crusier

      Now, EVO adds "Warship" (not really one) and Dreadnought. I have tried my best to perserve EVOness in it... I guess things like Escort Carrier and a few other names might fit nicely...
      To describe it (to help its name), it looks like a freightor/warship (but 8 pixels bigger) without the ends of the two cylinders on the side of it. It has 3 Turrets and 3 cannons, very nice... and an Emalgha bay. I havn't decided whether or not to allow Hunter Missles into Emalgha space. Everyone, do you think the UE would share low-end tech with the Emalgha? If so, then it sports 2 Launchers and 15 Missles. Or 3 Rocket launchers and 10-15 rockets. I personally think missles might be good, as rockets are more for faster ships.

      It certainly is to be FEARED by Frigates, although without the bay, the Frigate stands a good chance of winning...
      Ok, so how's this sound for the new Emalgha ship line (please disagree people ;))
      Freightor, Fighter, Warship (upgraded Freightor), Carrier (upgraded Freightor with bay upgrade) and Cruiser.

      I don't see that the UE would have any problems with sharing their tech, especially as the UE knows it can can crucify Emalghia any time it wants to - drop a UE Cruiser, a couple of Carriers and half a dozen Destroyers in system and they'd have no choice but to roll over. Additionally (and on a more charitable note) the Emalgha help to shore up the Voinian's eastern frontier, which the Ue can't cover on it's own.

    • Ok then GREAT IDEA! That said here comes da criticism :). First of all you probably shouldn't give Emalgha Hunters and Rockets, they have a distinctive (read:SUCKY) style, and givin' 'em that stuff would upset the balance. HOWEVER, some sort of guided missle would work for them (call it the Spine or Claw... I like Claw...). Name-wise for the ship, I think that Galleon or Corvette would sound nice. Instead of a UE "good realtions" station, maybe a Miranu station would work. Obviously, this could lead to some Miranu-Emalgha trade.

      Finally someone who wants to do te most obvious thing that there was left to be done. I suggest that perhaps, we should give the emalgha access to some really minted technlogy, perhaps through an alliance with the zachit.
      This would probably mean creating a zachit base some where in emalgha space and the creation of some miranu - voinian war missions as, no doubt the voinians would attck the supply vessels that service such a station. Perhaps you could give them access to the crescent weaponry or perhaps create a new weapon that could utilise voinian and crescent technology therby developing a far superior weapon for use by all.

      Missions could involve the setup of the link between emalgha and zachit and the transport of construction workers.

      Combat missions could involve patrols, destruction of specific voinian ships ( for realism, a ship shoul appear only once unless the player fails to deatroy it) and eventually, a collaboration with UE forces in an attempt to invade the voinian core systems and to take their home world. after this, the voinian technology would need to become available on many worlds and missions could become available allowing various race sto colonize the worlds once inhabited by the voinians(think the war would work somewhat along the lines of ender's game, eg destroy all voinians.) and therefore the creation of new ports and trading opportunities. you could also have missions defending these new systems agains renegade incursions and a missionchain that would lead to the destruction of both north tip, south tip and possibly also of human renegades.
      Of, course, to turn that around, you could possibly have a renegade alliance form wih it's base on one of these planets and have the player join them and defend them from attack. Almost certainly, your concept of giving the emalgha better ships is a good one but needs to include the fact that technology must be shared between all the races. 🙂

    • Personally I think that Carrier is the kind of ship that suits bette, but it could have another name.

      I think that the Zachit would get nothing from the Emalgha cause Emalgha's weapons are not suitable for the Crescent.

    • Well, the UE had 'allied' with the Council Station, more like gave them something for technology in return. Anyways, the UE now has altered strand technology to help fight the Aliens (the original Aliens from EV...returned..).

      Now, Strand Vs Voinian doesn't work... the Zachit do not stand a chance.
      Good idea, however... Strand technology is useless against Voinians. Try taking a brand new Crescent Warship against a Voinian Frigate, it will die pitifully....

      A properly outfitted crescent warship can kick the dreadnoughts ass thanks very much.
      I know, I've done it.

      The zachit may have nothing to gain from allying with the emalgha but think about it, their raison de etre is to stop renegades ( pirates ) and to their eyes the voinians would be little better than pirates so they would feel justified in doing so. And the reason for my belief, I fly with the zachit and do their missions. so do my pals who play over here in scotland and they all concur( that's 7 of us by the way) so I think that If you ask around this view might be slightly more common than you think.

    • I think that with the Emalgha allying with the UE, you should drop those messed up wood and metal ships, especially if you want a fighter bay on the thing. I think that the Emalgha, realizing that the UE has better technology, should drop their own messed up ships and adopt the UE ones. They should put the mass drivers (or whatever they're called) on all of the UE ships, because they rip Voinian ships to shreds, and advantage for the UE. I also think that there should be more with the ex-Voinian slaves too, what were they called again, the Hindar or something. I've forgotten lots of names, I've been playing frozen heart and other games.

    • One problem, Emalgha HAS NO RESOURCES! 😉 I thought about what you said once too, but I realized some things...
      a) Emalgha has few resources, wood is a cheap replacement since they are in deperate need of metal (see how much it costs on Emalgha)

      🆒 UE is not only at war with the Voinians, try taking an Emalgha turret against a renegade some time.....
      Also, the UE is at war with EV's old "alien" government. So Blaze weapons are pretty evened out amoung the different battle grounds.

      Good suggestions people! What do you all think about the Miranu helping deliver metal to the Emalghans? Then perhaps the Zachit would care.. maybe perhaps?

    • Personally, I don't think the Emalgha should have anything to do with either the Miranu or the Zachit. Anyway, what would they have to gain from Crescent technology? Phase weapons have almost no effect against Voinian armor. Also, the Miranu and Zachit systems are almost nowhere close to Emalgha space, so how do we know that the Miranu even know the Emalgha exist? I think I like that idea about having a UE station at a centerpoint between the two sectors instead of a Miranu or Zachit station(just leave the Miranu and Zachit out of this one, okay?). Or how about a UE/Emalgha station? 🙂

      Anyway, there's my two cents about the idea.

    • There is two systems between the Emalgha and the UE. What I decided to do was set up a UE-Crescent research station in the system 2 jumps for UE space, its purpose and formation begins later in the game, ties in with plot.

      The system 2 jumps from Kelmoan will be a meeting place for Miranu and Emalgha. Think about it, its safe and the Emalgha are in desperate need of supplies, so the Miranu have lots of stuff to benefit. Also, its not far in relation to the trade routes of Miranu....

    • The Miranu tend to be a "nice" race. I could see them helping the emalgha, if not out of pity then out of protection. If the Emalgha fall, the voinians would move northward. Who would they meet there, the Miranu. Miranu weapons are almost useless against Voinians. Maybe your plug should have some new miranu made weapons that really hurt voinian armor.

      that's an awesome idea. Where else would Emalgha get resources? I mean, the Miranu is a trade race. With resources from Miranu then the emalgha would be able to build the bigger ships that you've all been talking about.

    • Andrew M, actually its fairly easy to tie in the Aliens. They retreated to an area that only there ships could make it to, due to their better interference technology. Better interference technology means MORE systems you can explore, which is exactly where the Aliens have been hiding for 115/100 years.

      To all, thanks for helping me get more ideas so far. So now I think I will have the Emalgha and Miranu becoming better allies. The UE becomes more 'allied' with the mysterous Council, they gave them a few things they need, and in return the Council helps build them new Strand-UE ships for crushing the Xenophobic aliens. See, the UE, Voinans and Aliens are all at war with each other. Which is quite interesting since if any enslaved Voinian races are freed, they will just be attacked by Aliens....

      NEW QUESTIONS
      What does everyone think about enemies taking homeworlds? I thought about the Aliens taking Sol. The Emalgha taking Voinia and the Confederacy taking the Alien homeworld. Which leads to...

      I thought about an idea that fits in real well with the theme, the formation of a new Confederacy. The Aliens start attacking renegade and independent planets. So in hating this, they all slowly and forcefully form a temporary confederacy capable of fighting the Aliens as one.

      Even better, they find a lost (EV) Confederate base, where they find old ships and technology, STILL better than their own. After 100 (or maybe it should be 50, like the year 2300) years the old Confederate Cruiser is still better than the Turncoat. Thus we have cool stuff from EV in the EVO universe, what would be more cool than a Frigate and Arada blasting each other? 😉

      This could even lead to a future plot in repeating history, after the war the confederacy refuses to split, and a new rebellion forms....
