    • EV Developer's Map for EVO?

Ok, so I downloaded EV Deveolper's Map.

Now how do I get it to work for EVO?

    • Wow, it was designed for EV <sarcasm>THAT'S a revelation to us all </sarcasm>

    • I put aliases for Override Data 2 and Override Graphics instead of the EV ones it everything seems to load up fine. I actually posted a topic asking if anyone had done this and whether or not I can trust it with my plug but noone answered.

So I ask it here, does anyone know for sure if this works??

      give us graphics goddamit!

    • What a $#%& ripoff!!! EV-Edit trashes my plugin even if the only thing I do is systems and entering numbers into ResEdit and then testing doesn't seem very efficient.

    • Welcome to the Revelation we've all been enlightened with <sarcasm there>.

You'll have to do them the hard way. Get the EVO Bible and work with Resedit.

Sleep?! Oh yah... I did that last week!

    • Actually, you can use EV Edit to layout the systems.

Basicaly, I copy the syst resource into its own pulg file and work on that. Also, I take out all of the other alises in the ev-edit folder, so it doesn't get confused.

This seems to work fine to position, name, and link systems together. you'll have to enter govt, dude, and stellar types in resedit, but this is much easier once the galaxy is layed out.

Then you just copy the syst resource back into your plug.

I haven't had a single problem doing it this way.
But, of course, you always work on back-ups.

    • Developer's Map does work! Combine the two Override data files and WHAM! It works...for me at least.

    • ResEdit makes WHAMO? Just copy the resouce forks and presto!

      Yahoo... 😉

Oooo, good idea. How exactly is this performed though?

    • Interestingly, Pontus Ilbring, author of EV Dev Map, was working on a fabulous version of it for EVO, called EVO Developer's Map (hmm. . . kinda self-evident). Feature-packed, easy to use, and slick overall. However, he vanished from the EV/O community sometime ago, and his page disappeared with him. A tragic loss for the EVO community.

ResEdit, cut and paste. Also do Zeta's suggestion.

Pontus is still around; I get e-mail from him occasionally. Don't think he has done much on 'EVO Dev Map' lately, school has been keeping him busy. He took down the web site when he changed ISP's and the new ISP is apparently really fouled up, he hasn't got a site up yet.
