    • Does completing human renegades cut you out of Voinian storyline?

      Can't finish the Voinian string

So basically I was wondering if completing the Human renegade storyline will cut you out of completing the Voinian storyline

I had started the Voinian storyline, done a few cargo missions and whatnot, then I started to browse the universe. This led to the human renegades, but now I can't seem to get back into the Voinian string.

After completing the renegades, basically everyone hated me. But after some tedious work (shooting on UE vessels), all the Voinian worlds love me again :heythere: , hehe.

But the only missions I seem to get is defend from UE attack, or go and destroy a fleet that is building up

Playing Override as a EV Nova plugin, no other plugs installed.

    • Think I figured it out!

Went to Denlon in the Fridion system, and the Voinians gave more missions.

Thanks for reading though  , guess it doesn't cut you out of the mission

    • Good stuff. EVO, for all of its awesomeness, did have a bit of a habit of leaving the player hanging in mission strings. From memory (has been too long) the Voinian string early on is indeed all about cargo deliveries and then suddenly something more exciting. It's hard to figure what it is based on, as you don't really up your legal status through deliveries, and I don't think it is location dependent, just probability based - does anyone have such info to hand?

The last time I tried a playthrough, last year, not so bad :), I couldn't for the life of me get the first mission for the human renegades - tried so many times that it really put me off playing further. I mean that was okay back in the day but I'm so much more attuned to instant gratification now lol. And the same goes for the UE cruiser string - but that -always- did play hard to get! Last time I couldn't even get it through my tried and true method (visiting New Taranto right after rescuing the scoutship crew) ... again, I got put off. It must be about time to try again though!

    • I always liked to delay the final Paaren Station mission so I could bring 4 UE Carriers and Destroyers wherever I went.

It was amazing how devastating those ships could be in any battle against Voinians or Renegades. My last "Destroy the Dreadnought" run, I took a "destroy a Voinian supply convoy" mission and the Paaren station escorts, so we ended up with a melee of 12 UE Destroyers + 2 UE Carriers vs. The Dreadnought + 2 Frigates + 4 Supply Ships. Fight was over before I even reached it.

It's equally amazing how fast the UE ships get obliterated in the Crescent; those missions are the game's real hard mode.

You did make sure you had a negative legal status on Iothe Prime, right?

Yep, always fun to hang around blowing up their militia ships :).

@Lizard - agreed that was a nice "feature" in the game. Hardmode - yes indeed, I believe Destroy The Rock was one of the toughest in terms of sheer enemy firepower. Even harder crew-of-one style. Definitely been too long lol.

As long as you had enough cash to bribe the Crescent Fighters, then you could Monty Python the Crescent Warships even in a shuttle.

Wow ... I never thought to try bribing them ... too busy killing them :D.

Instead I did cloak and run like hell. I forget if I ever managed the mission in a Krait for crew-of-one - the answer is probably around here somewhere....
