    • Voinian Mission String Assistance

I need some tips on the Voinian Mission String. I completed the second "recruiting" mission -- the one where you blow away the UE Shuttle with the admiral -- but I can't for the life of me continue the string. I can't find any planets or stations in Voinian territory that will let me land, so I can't get any other missions.

Where is the first stop I should go to after completing the UE Shuttle mission?

      Thanks for your time.

    • It should be something like Ylynn Outpost. If that won't let you land, you had probably better make a new pilot and avoid blowing away Voinian ships.

    • Can't he just take out a bunch of UE ships until his standing with the Voinians increases? Or would that take longer than starting a new pilot file?

I helped knock out a couple of UE Destroyers, and that opened up some Voinian planets to me. I'm on my way!

    • Glad it's working.

    • Sounds like you need something like this.

Thx Apple Cřre! I searched it a while, but couldn't find it, but now...

Wasn't there an Override plug to Nova plug convertor?

    • Somewhere, but it's a bit buggy and needs work. You may have to edit the bugs out by hand.

There's an update underway. Should be pretty good once it's finished.

But this plug is for the original Override. I'm working on Reign of Voinians for the Override conversion of EV:Nova and it's fairly good now. I'd like to post it to the Override add-ons page, but I couldn't get the permission to do so from the author, 'cause I don't know who he is. Does somebody know who did Reign of Voinians and how I can contact him? I saw in the read me the name 'bombcat', is this the mod 'bomb'?

Well I can't help you there but I think you're supposed to post addons according to the engine they run on rather than the scenario (I noticed you've already posted a Nova plug on the Override pages).

How are you doing the conversion? I'd strongly recommend waiting for the next release of SpacePort before doing this. There's just too much you have to watch out for when doing it manually.

I copied the files of the original plug in the Nova plug, then I checked every resource of bugs, fixed them, checked every resource if they have the right IDs, fixed the wrong ones and looked in your Nova files 1 and 2 for Override to fill gaps which wasn't there in the original Override.

      Edit:

You mean I've to post Override plugs for the Override conversion of EV:Nova to the Nova add-ons page?

Dude that must be a seriously painful process. You did all the bits by hand? The EVO bit fields are labelled as 'unused' in the Nova templates and are hidden by all the editors. Other than that there are many other differences between EVO and Nova - fields which you must put a slightly different value in, flags which should be checked, fields which have been turned into flags or vice versa, etc.

I've just downloaded the plug. I think it is Bomb the mod but if you look in the FAQ section of the read me you'll find an email address.

Yes. You don't see rEV being posted on the EV addons.

Where's in the read me a FAQ?

    • On the second page. Er, assuming you have the updated version that is. It isn't in version 1.0.

    • Are you sure that a Reign of Voinians 1.1 exists? I couldn't find it on the add-ons page.

      Attached File(s)

    • Yup, it's the second file in that pic.

    • But the read me is an OS9 file.

    • yes it is 'Bomb' the moderator he made that plug-in, and he's a reasonable guy so I'm sure he'd be happy to see his plug updated onto the Nova platform.

While you're at it you could convert a few of mine over as well, it would be a right laugh to make a sequal on the Nova engine.
