      I'm getting my friend to start playing, what story should I use on my demostration guy (of course not getting far in)

      I'd demo the UE string, and perhaps if there was time start demoing the Azdgari string. I find it the most fun of the three strand strings and (in my opinion) the beginning is the most exciting of the three.

      I agree about the UE string, but I wouldn't even tell him about the rest of the galaxy.

      I'd say 80% of the excitement when I started playing override was exploration and discovery. Plus, the Miranu/crescent tech seems much more exotic and advanced when you're used to UE stuff.

      Tell him how to make enough money for a scoutship or so, and let him discover the rest his own way.
      Pretty sure that most people around here would feel that way...
      Also the most intriguing way to get him interested in the game /me thinks.

      Just show him enough until you can tell he's going to be addicted to it. The first time playing you should figure everything out for yourself. Sometimes I wish I could forget everything I know about the game and just start it again without any previous knowledge. The first time is always the best, so just the first few UE missions should do well as a starting point.
