    • Clue time methinks

Think about the word Exodus and what it means.

Then think about the Voinian Empire.

I reckon another 2-3 weeks. Also got a UE project on the way even sooner. I'll release it along with Confed Rule, the Confederate EVC missions, my Frozen Heart work and possibly even EVO Galaxy Expander.

      Maybe.

Hmm. The Voinians are 'evicted' from their space, and must travel to other space. Interesting.

Indeed. They are expelled from their homeworld and need to go somewhere else. I wonder why they need to go somewhere else, and where also. Gavin, you get the award of the topic that has confused most people. πŸ˜› You confused me, double_zero, and UE R&D.; Seriously, this is a interesting idea. Instead of being destroyed like in Reign of the UE, they just relocate to somewhere else. Also, whats your UE project? Is it going to be a Reign of the UE- type plug or something else?

    • You have... the jist of it.

Ever noticed how the Voinians always lose in fights with UE ships? Well, they've had enough, and hitailing it to somewhere else. I already have the project half complete, and although I say this myself, it's really good. I don't think anyone's ever tried what I'm going to try in a plug before.

The UE project is the total opposite of a Reign plug. Remember when I suggested having less rigid plug-in ideas? Well, this time the humans are attacked, and you must play the part in defending their space from the northern forces of the Crescent.

I do enjoy twisting the EVO storylines as far as they will go.

Question being: why would the Voinians leave behind a really good position (i.e plenty of slave worlds) in favour of being a nomadic, or at the very least a displaced Empire? It seems to me they've got it pretty good with all the minor races working away and keeping their war machine going.

I would assume because the Voinians are tired of fighting in a constant stalemate with the UE (or maybe disadvantage would be the better word). I do believe for the Voinians to make a sincere approach at working on better technology might be easier that entirely changing their culture and Empire, but I'm not exactly sure of what gavin's got in mind.

    • I was going to assume that the title referred to the state of condition of the Voinian homeworld. The planet has been polluted so bad which led to the rise of the empire.

It is a ticking time bomb waiting to go off. The atmosphere is spontaneously combustible waiting to be detonated. So of course there would be a good reason for the Voinians to get the f**k out of Dodge. But this doesn't mean that they will abandon the entire empire.

Darn, I just gave away part of a reference to FOTVE.

    • I can't reply without giving away more of the plot than I want to, I'm afraid. You'll have to wait until it's finished then make up your own minds.

Don't worry, I'll amaze you all.

This would make sense, but I just don't see it being feasible for the Voinians to do- Peter Cartwright himself said the Voinians were more of stuffy bureacrats than they were socially conscious rulers. I see them as looking at their empire in a calculated sort of sense, not a "we're tired of fighting" sense. Mathematically it makes sense for them to stay where they are and watch the UEs slowly crumble- and example of which is the secession of Huron.

But of course, most of my argument is null and void anyway because gav's often been talking about how he likes to throw the proverbial monkey wrench into EVO's machinery, changing and twisting the stories, which is cool.
