    • Sure thing. Though could you send me any information you had come up with for ROTV III? It would probably come in useful, even if you say it's outdated. 😉

Will do. When I go home next week I'll root around my old notebooks and see if I can't track down the old ROTV III stuff.

    • Dreden Wars was a massive TC plug-in for EVO that was supposed to be really cool. However, we sort of abandoned the project.

    • Ah. A topic about me except of course that it isn't actually about me.

      Well, if anyone is interested:
In June 2001 I stood for parliament in an unwinnable seat (Sutton Coldfield) in the UK, and got 19.2% of the vote.

After the election I joined the NHS, and spent a lot of time working on transforming a Community Health Trust, a Health Authority and four Primary Care Groups into a single Primary Care Trust. BTW, it's not as simple (!) as it sounds.

Sadly, by that time my sister was very ill and she died in October 2001, the day before her 37th birthday.

We spent a lot of 2002 writing and recording songs with our new band, Str&nded.; M sister featured prominently in a lot of them.

Towards the end of 2002 I decided to go for selection to be a European candidate. I spent most of the first part of 2002 campaigning (alongside my regular job) and am now no 4 on an 8 person list for the West Midlands. It's extremely unlikely that we will get more than two out of eight elected, but that's life.

In the mean time I've also started fencing again, and now have a UK national ranking. I mainly do foil, but a little sabre and epee on the side.

The European elections are in May 2004. If I'm not elected, I've agreed to move to Belgium in September 2004 to lead a youth-charity there.

In the mean time I'm writing a children's novel about time travel and King Arthur, called 'the Skifters' (from the line in Sir Gawayne and the Grene Knight — 'and oft bothe blysse and blunder ful skete have skifted synne'.

      Satisfied?

      Uh, damn.

    • I agree completely, forge. There are more commotion for your plugs to be ported to EVN, Martin, but maybe when Port Authority comes out, then someone can do that. As a matter of fact, what is going on with Port Authority? It seems likely that EVN:PC will be out before Port Authority.

    • Theres another scenario that I would consider in ROTVIII: defeat. History has proven that hostile dictatorships and conquered empires just don't work in the long term, look at the Soviets. By the personalities of the various races, I think that if the Voinians were stretched to the limit by an invasion of the crescent, the conquered UE empire would revolt. If the Voinians leave enough ships in the UE sector to keep it under control, then they risk losing to the strands, and still leave the possibility of a revolt among the origonal conquered races farther west. The fact of the matter is, noone likes being under the heel of the Voinians, and they may be expanding a little too fast to keep it under control. Just look at what first happened with the Emalgha, the Voinians took their eyes off of them for 2 seconds to fight the UE, and all of a sudden the northernmost empire planets broke free.
