Is there any way to find out what kind of record I have in the game? I read that I have to have a role model record to start this mission, but I dont know how to check.

You can find out your legal status in the system you are in, as well as your overall combat rating, by pressing the P key. To find out what your legal record looks like across the galaxy, press the M key and click on the system of your choice. Among the many data that will be displayed will be your legal standing for that system. Systems favorable towards you will show in blue, those hostile to you in red, those forbidden to you in orange, and those conquered by you in green.
