Well, once again time, homework, and the Borb Station defense fleet conspire against me. I only lasted 49 minutes and managed to take down 74 Voinian craft, mostly Frigates and Cruisers, as I left fighters disabled to use as rocket banks.

I will be back, however.

As for my ship, I used a Freight-Courrier with an afterburner, a fuel scope, 3 Neutron Turrets, one Neutron cannon, one shield generator, one rocket launcher, and as many rockets as I could fit.

I rather like them. They have a lot of space, decent shields/armor, and sufficent turret slots. Why not?

In this kind of contest, ship speed isn't the issue, because you probably won't be facing off very large fleets. It's how fast you can take out the enemy that counts. Of course, you have to survive, too.

OK, they have a lot of space and enough turret slots. But they don't have much shields and armor. Many ships- including Miranu Heavy Freighter- have more shields. If I were to hunt Voinians, I would have a Crescent Warship with a lot SADs and max Neutrons.

Exactly. If you Monty-Pythoned every ship, it would take much too long to destroy a fleet.

Havn't finished yet but I'm using a Zidara (this is where someone tells me it's not allowed knowing my luck) and selling the fighters. Creating the pilot to get Ziggy, Iggy, UE and Voinian tech took a while.

Ahem...I do not appreciate misquoting. Destroyers, Laziras, and Zidaras are allowed. The only ships prohibited are those mentioned in the oening post.

No, read UE Crusaders last post. Zidaras, Destroyers, and Laziras are allowed. As for removing Phased Beams, try this plug: Bbp sit. It includes a Zidagar Booster Plug, which lets you sell Phased Beams if I remember right. To me, they're not completely useless: I can take Adzgari Aradas down.

Yes, I noticed but I did need to re-read the rules. He had me going for a moment. I find the beamers useless against armour when I have to re-fuel so regularly. It wastes too muc time when I could be blasting with othe stuff. Will be making my final attempt tonight to see what I can kill.

Kills: 95 Voinian vessels (2 Supply Ships, 5 Cruisers, 32 Voinian Frigates, 27 Heavy Fighters, 29 Interceptors)

Not too difficult - the gunship turned out to be a very formidable vessel. It got boring very quickly, simply eliminating ship after ship, although there were a few dangerous parts. 12 minutes in, I was on the receiving end of a very large number of rockets fired by frigates and interceptors - wrong place and wrong time. It knocked my armour down to 17%, and I barely managed to evade a second barrage and a load of neutron blasts. Had to whack speed up to 225% and fly around for a while

The second difficulty was when I went from Deadly to Ultimate. I hadn't realised before that it made a difference, but when I reached Ultimate, I ended up with a pack of eight frigates, firing rockets blindly at me. I could avoid them... mostly... but trying to get in close and take down a lone frigate was impossible.

I'll try again later, but I'm not going longer than two hours.

After 35 minutes and 17 seconds, I have taken down 94 Voinian Craft in my Lazira, which is equipped with Neutron Turrets/Cannons, Rockets, three mass expansions, two fuelscopes, an an afterburner. I am now returning to that bloodbath, which is still in progress.

After 72 minutes, I have taken down 175 Voinian craft.

235 after 1hr 30 minutes. Whee.

340 after 2hr, 10 minutes. This is getting tiring.

I killed 407 Voinian Ships in a span of two hours and 40 minutes. I was still alive at the end of that, but I was so worn out that I decided to flee to the Emalgha so I would not inadvertatly lose the pilot file by falling asleep at the controls.
