OOC: Carno, the moons of Azdgari were wasted to the point where no living thing survives by Benden's SW's, if i remember correctly. Azdgari military HQ is in Meagh anyway. So, you just sent a crapload of ships into a bleak, uninhabited system, with maybe the occasional DA mining ship. Fall from grace, one might call it.
And mamajama, if it makes you feel any better, I'm co-moderating EH, along with asriel and Luke.
A massive freighter lumbered through the atmosphere of Tumni. It had only a skeleton crew, but was equipped with a top-of-the-notch Zidagar hyperdrive, slug claw armor, and heavily upgraded shields. However, it was far from a freighter-gone-warship; it was simply carrying an extremely valuable cargo.
As it cleared Zidagar's gravity well, it entered hyperspace, directly from Zidagar to Namot, and then Namot to Fluron. It was refuelled on Fluron, and would later set out for the final leg of it's journey.
Espilot had been amazed at the will of his own men to sacrifice their lives, first at the battle, and now. He wondered, how could a handful of his pilots and crewmen, truly be worth billions from another race? Putting these thoughts aside, he set out to the shipyard wherein the Quetzalcoatl was stationed. Three orbital shipyards had been constructed, for the sole purpose of building and crewing ships. The numbers of the Zidagar fleet had been recreated, and there were now full patrols in every system, as well as powerful defense fleets for even the most remote outposts, such as Pozdag-3 and Vastan IV. He opened up a comm channel with Commodore Serryc, the head of his black-ops crew. "Commodore, this is the Admiral." The voice that replied was menacing, and sibilant, like the hiss of a snake, but the speech was somewhat stunted; "Greetings, Admiral. It has been long time since you contact Serryc, yah. What is you orders?" "I am giving you command of two-hundred and fifty Zidagras. Use them and your own forces, and go to the Meagh system. However, do not exit hyperspace in Meagh; I want you to hover, and destroy as many Acarra vessels as you can with only anti-matter missiles. I want no suicide attacks. The Azdgari will know they have our military support. Understood, Commodore?" "Yarr, is cakewalk for Serryc! I see you after battle!"
The Basilisk King , Serryc's modified Trebuchet, as well as one hundred Zidagras modified specially for heavy long-range combat and long missions into unknown space, and the two hundred-fifty ships given to Serryc by Espilot, entered hyperspace on their way to Meagh.
On Tumni, research had been going well. Anti-matter weapons had been thoroughly figured out, and were now in final testing stages. However, things did not bode so well for researchers on the Paladin Battlefrigate; when one had tried to enter the ship, it simply exploded, killing the researcher and injuring several others. Scientists working on the Enforcer, however, were sidetracked by what they labelled as 'a truly amazing find': Slipstream engines. Recreating this technology was under heavy research. The new Pike gunship was going well; the basic idea for it had first been laid out, and it's overall design was coming smoothly.
The anti-matter weapons research had undergone a radical change; a new idea, that clumps of anti-matter, with their own containment fields, could be accelerated down a barrel and do catastrophic damage to armor. The energy beam weapons would be most effective against shields, so a combination of the two would make for a very deadly ship.
