problem is... my game crashed AS I was saving it, so I'm gonna have to wait a while before that meal (curiosity increases of course )

There's no autosave. If your file is corrupted, you have to start over. I had the same problem--it crashed while saving and I lost almost all of my progress. The moral of the story: ALWAYS keep a recent backup.

The blue mushroom, incidentally, will instantly kill you and make your stuff rust or catch fire, then crash your game and overwrite your system with mushroom porn. But try eating it anyway.
