    • Upgrades? ... Ahrg? Help

      How do you get upgrades?

(This message has been edited by Commisar Death (edited 09-11-2002).)

    • Upgrades for what? Your ship? You buy them in the Outfits yard on a planet. (Is this what you mean, or do you need more info?)

If you mean upgrades for EVO, you can download the newest version. It hasn't been updated in some time, though.

    • The upgrades for the ships. How do "Emaghla upgrades" differ from ..., let's say ..., "Vonian upgrades"?

    • I will assume you mean in general terms. Someone in the future might come along and bring the actual statistics.

Emalgha weapons do murder on armor. Period. The freighter upgrade converts 100 tons of cargo to 85 tons of weapons space.

Voinian Weapons. Their neutron guns take down shields quite well, while their rockets break through armor.

Crescent Weapons (aka Phase guns). Do well against shields, although CAN be used against armor, albeit not very effectively. Pursuit missiles, SADs, and SAEs are great ranged weapons. Phased disruption beams and plasma siphons are nice as well, though the Azdgari upgrades and shields outfits are just plain mean :D.

Human Blaze weaponry is generally good against both armor and shields. Their rockets and hunter missiles are good against armor as well.

I know I have left plenty out, but this should be a starter.

    • Upgrades are like "mass expansion", right?

There is a specter haunting EVO, and that specter is not me though I wish it were (frown).

So an upgrade is the certain armor and weapons you buy?

    • An upgrade is anything that enhances your ship's ability to survive, whether it be weapons, armor, sensors, escape pods, autorefuellers (I have no idea why that is necessery for survival, but still :D) or shield upgrades. Fighters and fighter bays also count. Its a very broad subject, and upgrades can be purchased in the Outfits area of a planet, or, in certain cases, obtained through missions.

It prevents lazy people from getting stuck in the middle of nowhere without enough fuel to jump! (I love autorefuellers!)

    • I thought that it said that the auto-refuellers filled up your "tanks" when you entered the system, but you still paid the cost of it. I thought the ion-intake-ramscoop-majigers were better by far.
