    • (OOC: carnotaurhq.com seems to be down, so I can't access the map ... Apologies for the vague, incorrect and/or nonexistent system names. 😉 Also, I'm about to go to bed so it's a bit hurried ... Sorry about that as well.)

Shayborg's short nap in the command center of his shutle was interrupted by a muted beep from the ship's computer. It wasn't designed to wake him up if he was sleeping, but it did so anyway. He briefly and groggily considered going back to sleep, but decided to see what the computer was making a fuss about.

As soon as he saw the message, shayborg was glad he'd decided to look at it. He quickly dashed off a reply telling Carnotaur that he was on his way to a meeting elsewhere, but would come as soon as he was finished on Horosk.

With a satisfied smile on his face, shayborg leant back in the captain's chair and went back to sleep.

"We're going to have to re-distribute the shield generators over the hull of the vessel," an engineer said, gesturing toward a holographic projection of the supercruiser plans. That should allow the tachyonic flux to be stable enough to operate tachyonic shielding."

"As for the weaponry, we can install SAI's instead of SAE's," another engineer said. "We may also want to consider using fireflies or defense drones as carried vessels. If we use defense drones, we'll have to devise a way to tether them to the supercruiser, though."

"Let's work out the shielding problem first," the other replied. "Better to get it in working order before we upgrade it.

    • The Raven broke through the atmosphere of Titan, her thrusters at maximum burn as the ship sought for escape velocity and to escape the gravity well of the stellar she had left behind. Sojin Kiran had finally managed to find an good time to actually leave Titan. He was ten tons of munitions lighter and perhaps eighty-thousand credits richer. His orders to Raven had been to set a course for Azdgari space as quick as posible. The captain was planning to meet with a sister ship and hand Kazani over to an old friend before continuing his own career in Azdgari space or even Akrahd space at that. There was money to be made.

As soon as the Lazria reached escape velocity, a jump point opened and the ship leaped from realspace to hyperspace. With his leaving of League space, Sojin Kiran had also left behind unnoticed once more. The uncatchable smuggler had once more avoided capture.

Shayborg, leader of the Sladerei had just crossed into Horosk space, and computer extrapolations suggested he would arrive at Horosk Prime soon. RMA dismissed the holoscreen and turned to the shipyard upgrade reports. Updated reports suggested that the shipyards output would infact increase more than had been expected.

      Visitation of Death: Resistence

The attempt by the Shar'Nadda to stop the virus failed quickly. The plague at first were able to slow down the virus, but soon their genetics were absorbed into the virus, and they quickly became useless against the x'el virus. The radiation also did not affect the virus, for the viruses had something vaguely resembling a 'cell wall' which protected them against radiation of all kinds to varying degrees.

In Shar'Nadda, the virus continued to spread, and continued to multiply exponentially on the Shar'Naddan homeworld. They continued to assimilate more and more Shar'Naddan DNA into their ever increasing genetic fold. The recent assimilation of a huge amount of genetic data had caused the virus to replicate itself over twice as fast as it usually did. The viruses, working with a collective being that had been programmed into them by their creators, began to mutate into different forms. There were builders, who formed protective structures for other viruses, protecting them from dangerous elements, or enemies. There were some viruses which were larger and more powerful, and soon began to become a very different strain of the virus, whose main job was to hunt down and collect prey.

The virus was now evolving at an extrordinary rate, its genetics now beginning to resemble something much more than a virus. No, the X'el Virus would soon reach a level of sentience far beyond the primitive and limited virus, where its genetic fold was hampered and restricted.

OOC: Sorry Rigadaz, I'm bad at keeping up with battles...

      Battle of Lakai

As the Federation forces defending the military outpost were slowly driven back, they were able to give the Rarkyl a considerable setback. Detecting the cloaked Rarkyl carriers because of an energy leak in one of the cloaking devices, the Federation fleet commander sent in several waves of Battlecruisers and Light Cruisers. Screaming forward, the ships blasted away at the unsuspecting Rarkyl vessels. If the Rarkyl had better cloaks, that might not have happened. However, the Federation was not able to stop the Rarkyl completely, and soon huge land battles were taking place on the planet below.

Suddenly, the huge Federation dreadnaught Daemon entered the system, accompanied by its considerable escort fleet. The huge warship plowed ahead, heading straight for the center of the Rarkyl lines. Charging up its sub-space generators, the dreadnaught began to project a powerful ring of pure sub-space energy around itself. It then simply rammed through waves and lines of enemy ships, turning them to twisted hulks. Able to change how far out the ring reached, the dreadnaught also added to the chaos with its huge weapons payload. Over two dozen heavy quantum pulse turrets and over a dozen quad quantum turrets blasted through Rarkyl shields and armor, turning their hulls into nothing but burning wrecks.

The battle was now looking a lot more favorable.

    • Redchigh and the whole military was awestruck as they stood outside...
"You just got back From sheaghi, to face this. When did this happen Angien?"
"While you were out... We're not sure who did it."
"I know Exactly who did it. "
"I do too, but no proof. "
      "How did this happen?"
"Not completely sure, sir. Seems that around 11:00, a package arrived to be secured to the inner Vault. It was supposed to be from 2nd Admiral Lancaster, but we now believe the information was faked. After the package was planted, it blew up. Wasn't Nuclear as far as we can tell, but it was still catastrophic. The Package detonated about 30 feet from the Vault. Lucky... Otherwise the Govt would have lost about 80 Billion credits. The Building is unstable, but the money is fine. We lost 90 azdgari, with another hundred injured. Pretty lucky considering there were thousands in there."
"Yes.. Lucky.. Caught any suspects yet?"
"Yes.. one. He's in the prison now."
      "Let me speak to him."
      "But sir,..."
      "You heard me."
      "very well."

Red and Angien walked down a armoured hallway, to the most secured cell. Red Excused the guards, took Angien's sidearm, and walked in the door.
      "Red, Let me in."
"No. This is mine." and he slammed the door.
He walked in the cell. It was the most secure, and obviously the least clean. He walked past some unidentifiable debri... Probably the remains of a mattress someone burned. The cell is quiet.
      Wait. what's that sound?
" Static... in blue eagle.. Come in. This is Silver Static "
"Shhh! Someone's in here! end comm! End Comm!!!"

Red pulled out his sidearm, and set it to stun.. he crept in the direction of the sound.

Suddenly he feels a jolting pain in the back of his head. He spins around in time to see the stone club coming towards him in a final blow. He dodges out of the way, and the rebel spins the club toward him again. Red jumps back, and fires at the rebel. It just grazes his left side. He cries out in pain and falls to the floor, his left side temporarily paralyzed."You'll never get any more information out of me... I already told you everything I know."
"Well rebel, I'm sure you answered all of my admiral's questions, but I have a few of my own. "
The rebel looked at him in horror as he realised who's voice that was. The cell was dark, but that face.. that voice... has to be.... "REDchigh!!" the rebel hisses as he lunged again. Red just had to step back.
"Can't jump far half paralyzed, can you?" Red laughed. "I want to know the names of any criminals you know of."
      "Never!"
"I'll ask you again." Red turned his tuner on his pistol.. Changed it to 'Low Concussion', 'High Flame', 'Needle Width' "What criminals do you know of?"
"None! I'm willing to die for the Resistance!!"
"I know. I had worse in mind."
Red fired at the criminal's right arm. A whole was seared through it.
"AAAHHHRRR" the rebel roared. He gripped his arm tightly. "Now, I ask again."
      "NEVER!!!"
Another shot was fired, this time at the rebel's thigh. "AHH Just KILL ME!"
"Nah." Another shot at the Thug's hand. "DAMN YOU! I GIVE UP!"
Red just smiled... "Give me the names of any criminals you know of."
Red shoved a datapad toward the criminal. "Do it."
The criminal got the voicepad, and began to speak. He turned to REDchigh.. "I need verification... trust me." After some mumbling, the Criminal then began typing names and numbers of criminals he knew of.

My friends, we have a second problem on our hands. The situation has changed so much: a virus that appears to be able to phase through shielding and armour has been unleashed, we believe accidentally by the aliens. The virus has already killed fifty six of our number and countless alien lifeforms. It appears to be highly advanced, and we're assuming it was intended for in-system launching as a defensive weapon employed by a government or species highly in advance of ours.

It would be bad for the alliance should you be put under the threat of this virus, and thus we must unfortunately request that you call off your attack. We understand that your fleet is already in the Large Megellanic Cloud, so perhaps, if you're bored, you could reinforce your position with the Teh'Rak. Right now, unfortunately, the Small Megellanic Cloud is closed off for incoming traffic, and we'll collapse the wormhole if necessary to prevent the virus spreading beyond. All evacuations will stop within three days for safety reasons, and many more evacuees are being sent to a safer cluster.

      Once again, our sincere apologies.

PS: We have a series of plans to wipe out the virus, involving a gamma mine and RNA-based virus we will employ shortly after. We may also look into the 'source' of this virus, as there may be remnants of the government that created it at the very least. Logically, their hulls would be resistant.

The Thoron Energy Projector Project was going well. Its capacity to act as a large shield in from of a group of ships would be use full to stop many fast, and low energy secondary weapons. Also, the multiple ways it can spread in the battlefield permits a fast recharge rate. For example, a large area under the TEP’s protection field is less likely to sustain a long assault from enemy weapon because of its thickness and also regenerates slower (the thoron particles have to reach these orbits to stay stable). When contracted to fit a smaller area, its power increases as well as its recharge rate. Then it can be sprayed again to form a wider wall of thorons. In a fleet, all Teh’Rak in formation ships would not enlarge and decrease their TEP at the same time, but randomly.

When the TEP is used as an additional shield, it can only be stress to fit the spherical shape of an ordinary shield for a limited amount of time. However, it is a very powerful shield that make the usual one recover from its damages very fast (a phenomenon that is not yet understood). This substituting capacities permit to have a new shield in a matter of 5-6 minutes for moderate damages and 15-20 minutes for catastrophic loses. However, the TEP cannot be used for the same amount of time to cool down the thoron deflectors.

    • ((Hey Red, let me know when you capture Sojin Whitehawk. Sojin Kiran would be smiling if he knew that!))

      NSI-838
      Outer System

The crescent fighter Njal was berthed to the airlock of the Raven, waiting only for Sojin Kiran’s assent to disengage and return to her parent ship, an old galaxy Crescent Warship. The Glory of Arion was akin to the Raven as a sentient ship, capable of independant thought and reason. Her captain, a Miranu called Dajen, was an old friend to both Kazani and Sojin, having once been a team for near two years, but those days had passed long ago.

The fighter broke away from the airlock and with half impulse flew towards the Arion , where it docked. After four minutes, the ship veered away from the Raven and soon after, a jump point opened like a star, flaring with the colors of hyperspace as the Arion jumped from realspace. The ship was bound for Miranu space, where Kazani would start over as an indepenant systems engineer.

Sojin stood at a veiw port, watching as the ship left. It had been great to see his old friend again, if only for this short while. Still he was glad that Kazani was gone, having started over. With the incident on Titan, he would be staying clear of Leauge space for a while. After all, he would be insane to try blowing up another building.

"What do you think, Raven? Should we head towards the Azdgari space?"

There was the message he had recieved, something that intrigued Sojin. Raven, of course, was suspisious. The holographic image shook her head and muttered something under her breath. "I'll take that as a bad idea, being insane to try it, the usual."

Raven nodded and said, "We've got enough cargo to sell to the pirate ports, you know. We could always head to Kayan space as well. There are tons of credits we could make there."

Sojin shook his head and smiled. He had known Raven a long time to understand her ideas. She thought working with terroists a bad thought, more risker than raiding or smuggling. Still if offered a good amount of credits and a safe haven in space held by an Akrahd clan.

The young captain spun on his heels and walked towards his quarters, stopping only to speak. "Take us towards Azdgari space, Raven. Maximum burn. There's much to plan."

He didn't need to turn around to know Raven was smiling.

The Lazria turned and soon another jump point formed, and the ship lept to hyperspace.

    • OOC- Ne Demord Jamais, there was no post relating to you between your last two posts, and in fact, only one post in between. It's edgy ground, but I wouldn't have posted there. It's bad manners (and if you're going to do it, at least getting someone to exchange posts with, like I had RMA earlier!)

Also, Ne Demord Jamais, your production rate is being looked into. I'm think I've managed to convince Carnotaur that the Teh'Rak shouldn't be producind 10,000 ships at a rate of 70% warships to 30% fighters/boats every post, when a larger, more advanced government (mine! :)) is producing 6,500 ships a post at a rate of about 45.5% capitals (including frigates and light destroyers, not just warsips) to 54.5% fighters/gunboats.

Oh, and about 30,000 Izirions/post. Yes, I can do that, because they're light fighters. Heavily armed for 10 minutes (after that they run out of fuel to power their beamers), and very fast, but light fighters. I think 'dats 'bout fair, don't you? 'deh figures, 'dey don't lie, 'ya know. 😛

      Lenars
"I believe that is what we call 'bull****'," the chairman murmured idly, leaning back on his seat. "You're asking us to place forces in key systems - why should we believe that you're not intending to pull us out of position, and make a sweep through Lenars, Herona, Ebidos and Zeural?"

"You're really a political infant, aren't you? Look, we've seen evidence of some sort of virus effecting us both in the Shar' Nadda system. It seems to effect you more. We're going to clear out the opposing forces in that system, aided by the virus, and then we'll move out anyway and let the virus do its work while we work on defeating it when it spreads."

"If you're on the level, don't worry, we'll defend ourselves. You're not welcome here at the moment, however: even if I trusted you, I couldn't let a bunch of aliens with a brief history of unprecented murder on a massive scale stay around here. I'd advise you take the route through Lagarde out of our space ASAP, and stay out of the following events. We're not going to kill anyone who we don't need to, don't worry."

      Aries Primus
With a large number of colonists fleeing from RA space, the cities of Aries Primus were finished and the colonies were beginning to thrive already. The first 250 ships produced in the system were titled the "Lords of Aries", and a parade involving them was held. Preparations were also made for the colonisation of Aries Secondus, and the shipyards of Aries Primus were being slowly increased. By the time Aries Secondus had been colonised, the output of this colony would have doubled, and then reached its maximum - for now.

      Gateway
Perhaps just in time, the Izirion project was moved from Herona, which was now classed as an extremely dangerous area. The project was very nearly completed, and once the first wave of Izirions had been produced, the Strand League would be able to continue their operation attacking Thalleon.

In the last week or so (3 posts), 19,500 new ships had been produced, reinforcing all systems. The Strand League now had 512,000 ships available, with just under 50,000 engaged in the Shar' Nadda system, over 100,000 spread out in Ring Alliance space (50,000 in Kassadar), 32,500 + 1500 Igazradas sent to various Thalleon systems and the rest in major defensive positions (100,000 or 50,000 ships in all entry-points it Igadzra proper and Zidagar proper, some uninhabited systems held with major forces, such as NSI-232).

-Carno emailed me this: ŤReally sorry for not telling you this earlier, but anyway. Defilers, Desecrators, and Necromancers all have very good shield regeneration, extra good sensors, and they're also much faster than standard warships of their size. Just wanted to point that out for ya.ť

-How can we lack the available resources to produce at the same rate our magnificent warships.

-Well... Sir Psack. You had requested to dramatically increase our capacity to attack so I presumed that we could Ťsacrificeť some metal...

-This is a long term fight, we cannot sacrifice a single gluon. Readjust everything so that we do not hypothec our future.

      Standard Ship Production

      3 600 fighters

      Message to Akrahd Valanor Clan

The Akrahd Teh’Rak Clan would like to pass by Outpost Nil’Syria with about two thousand haulers in direction of NSI-484. No military ships will accompany these ships to the Valanor territory. Otherwise, they might suffer heavy casualties when passing in Strand League patrolled systems.

    • "Deep scan sequence #33145-12 complete, let the records show all is stable," a Kayan scientist aboard a firefly announced. She'd just finished deep level scans of the rift zone in Rigel, scans which were conducted every five hours to make sure the rift was still stable and ready to accept travellers to and from the Milky Way. Fortunately for the scientists watching the rift, though, only four instabilities had ever been detected in the eighteen years it had been monitored, and those had quickly subsided.

As the scientist's firefly cleared the rift zone, a blue glow permeated that region of space and after a flash, a bluish gateway appeared and several gunships and laziras emerged. "Visitors from Akrayhek," the scientist thought to herself. "I ought to take some time off and visit it myself. I haven't seen the memorial spire in three years."
