I decided to go to the guardian chamber to check for Ratznest. I also have Uber-Guardian. Whenever I went in, the game would crash, probably because two different locations went in. When I disabled Uber Guardian, the file would not load.
Is there a fix, or a plugin I could use to get around it?
I have been really looking forward to kicking Ratznest and any other enemies around there but it won't work.

You cannot enter the Guardian's chamber twice. When I was constructing DiD, I sent an email to Dee Brown at Beenox about the problem but he did not respond. A second entry will either freeze the character or crash the game. There is no way around this that I know of which is why I had to bypass this area for the Damsels plugin. Game Continuer will also lock the player when he tries to complete a game. I hope you have a save from not too far before that, because that game is gone. Believe me, I tried all kinds of things to try to work this out and after a week of tearing my hair out over this I am now partially bald.

In the Damsels plugin the player gets a warning that he is being sent to an area beyond the Guardian and will have to de-select my plugin to be able to defeat the Guardian, awaken the Pillars of Garendall and save the kingdom.

BTW, I am working on a sequel to Damsels which will allow the player to retain certain items acquired in the plugin so that when Damsels is completed and de-activated the player may still use Blade Diabolus, any hard ciders he didn't drink, etc. Yes, he gets to keep his Snake Repellent too. ~RD

I did not use Game Continuer, I used Uber Guardian. It seems that your plugin skips the guardian, but cannot skip the uber guardian, so it crashes. I never went in the guardian chamber. It refuses to let me take out Uber-guardian.
Any bypasses or something?

I didn't think you had Game Continuer in, I was including that information for others to know. I just fired up a game with UberGuardian and got a mild surprise. Instead of being transported to the square beyond as my coding dictates, I found myself in a place which was not the Guardian's chamber exactly, but was also not the square beyond. My hero was nowhere to be seen (and could not move) and the UberGuardian was strutting around looking for me. Since my hero was locked, I just quit the game and re-opened without the UG plugin. Everything then went as normal.

I have no way of knowing what Gavin Dow did to construct UG, so I don't know what to do to bypass this.

Conclusion: Damsels in Distress is not compatable with UberGuardian. If you want to play the UG plugin, wait until you have completed DiD and de-selected it before you activate UG.

It was activated before I started DiD. BUt when I try to disable it on the plugin menu, and then load my game, the expanding black squares appear and it crashes.
Any ways around this?

I have no clue as to why you cannot just uncheck the plugin. I am going to try an experiment to see if I can get past the UberGuardian. I'll post back shortly (what's shortly? - hopefully in less than a hour.)

Well I've managed to crash or freeze my computer ten times in the last hour and a half in attempts to get past UberGuardian. It's not working.

One suggestion: If you have a somewhat earlier save from before you had the conflict, try de-selecting UberGuardian from that and see if you can then play through. Somehow your game has linked the two plugins in unholy matrimony. Perhaps if you separate them before they have a chance to meet, the incompatable union will not take place.

After reading this post last night concerming DiD & UG, I felt a litle distressed since I had both of these currently running. Didn't have time to check last night, but tonight I discovered some basically good news: I started POG & turned off UG (I've only rescued 1 princes,so far though); when my saved game opened, I got the dialogue box about the UG plugin missing; I selected OK & the game was ready to go; I saved the game under a different name; quit POG; restarted, no problems & no dialogue box about missing UG plugin.
Many thanx & well done on DiD. It's my 3rd time thru POG & I'm reveling in the variations & versitility the plugins are giving to the game. I really enjoy getting to go where I couldn't go before, always wanted to know what was in the areas I couldn't see.

I'm a little late with this, but if you have the expanding black squares, just press Enter and the game will load normally. It's a dialog box saying "Plug-in not loaded. Continue?" or something similiar. I got stuck on this for a while, too. Also, i know from personal experience that Uber-Guardian won't work with the final sequence of DiD. You'd have to leave one of them off.
