i was playing override the other day, and i replaced the shuttle graphics with graphics i made, to make sure the worked properly. i was having great fun flying around, and then i noticed that i could shoot trader ships in the middle of the sol system without the UE caring. consequently my combat rating is above average now and i have gained 190,000 credits--all without leaving the sol system or ever taking a mission.

Yeah, I've done that before. Just make sure they aren't Stellar Corp or U.E., and you'll be fine.

Yes, I've tried that once, but with a scoutship instead. Now, try it with a freight courier, and you'll really get some profits with all that extra cargo space it has.

Freighter or Cargo Transporter works best, though. Decent Cargo space, and they're cheap enough that you have a good shot at getting them early.

In EVO it is very easy to raise your combat rating, even with a shuttlecraft (I prefer at least a scoutship). Just go to a Voinian/UE border and as a Voinian vessel is blowing up, shot at it a few times. It'll raise your combat rating and make you look good.

I've found this DOESN'T work in EV very well for some reason. It's much harder to take a jab at a dying Confederate or Rebellion ship.

I know what you mean - I usually end up trying to take the last shot in a Gov. Cruiser match-up, and end up hitting one of the Mantas/Patrol Ships. Unless I'm in something fast, I don't usually last much longer.

Not for me. I just wait for the battle to END, and THEN I attack the winner. I also tend not to go for the cruisers; only the destroyers and frigates. Easier to capture, and easier to disable/destroy.

And yes, it is easier to get a high combat rating in EVO.... unless you're in strand space. All the ships up there have very little crew...
