OOC: Overrider, I dont think the Dark Angels need a SiC, so you have a choice. Work as a partner of mamajama, or be a mercenary that bands the independant worlds together. If you want to control the independants, wait until I set them up.
ESP, ETA means Estimated Time of Arrival.
ETC means estimated time of completion.
Mamajama, Mass=Energy, ever heard of E=mc^2? Energy = Mass x Speed of light^2.
Any reaction, the shot of a gun, the gas burning in your car, literally turns minute amounts of mass into pure energy. A Energy vacuum would demand vast amounts of energy, and in turn, would cost mass. (your physics lesson for the day. Ask any Physicist, he/she'll agree. Ask any Chemist, he/she'll think im insane.)
Background Development:
The Coalition scout fleet commander was lazily issueing orders... "Full speed ahead, on to the next system."
"Yes, sir."
As the fleet of warcruisers and sharks exited hyperspace, something strange was picked up on radar.. "Sir, We're picking up large life-signs in the next system... What should we do?"
"Jump into the system, we'll check it out. It's probably a freightor that blew up and ejected it's crew into space." All the marines around suddenly got a disgusted look on their face as they tried to get that image out of their mind.
"Entering hyperspace now, Cap'n."
The wave of hyperspace flowing around the shields was an eerie sound, that most captains and pilots got used to early in their career, but for some reason, it seemed to have a different tone to it.. The captain didn't say anything, but a chill passed over the crew.. The engineer on bridge didn't even say a word as the ship exited hyperspace..
The crew was shocked when they entered the system. Empty. Except for a few asteroids, there was nothing. No debri, no hyperspace engine residue, no nothing.
"Sir, there's nothing here..."
"Oh I can't see anymore! I can't see a thing!"
"Sir, whats wrong?!"
"It was a blinding flash of the obvious!" The captain slapped the officer across the head. He hit him harder than he meant to, and he fell, and most of the officers rushed to help him, even the captain. It was too early in his career for him to be court marshalled. "Wake up!" The captain shook him, the officer didn't respond.
Suddenly his eyes slowly opened, and everyone on the bridge released a heavy sigh of relief. The officers eyes opened wider, and he spoke. "That's what you get for hitting an offic- his eyes went blank. It was like he was looking out the front of the ship into space. The captain reached to hit him, and the officer suddenly looked extremely afraid. The captain felt bad a second. "Relax, son. I wont hit you."
"I-.. I- dont care about that.... look....."
The captain slowly turned to look out the front bridge, and he couldn't see out. He suddenly realised that the stars were covered up by something etremely close by.
"Sir, there's a large electrostatic field in this system. It's weak, but our messages can't go through."
"Damn.. What is that outside?"
"I dont know sir, whatever it is, it has an unbelievable crew. It must be literally packed with live crew."
"Or the ship is alive.." a new triad engineer noted.
The captain was about to brush the idea off, until he realized it did make sense. He suddenly noticed that most of the fleet was unmoving. The stars suddenly showed again.
"Sir, shields are down!"
"How?"
"We dont know. Must be all the electro-static around here, drained our shields suddenly"
"That makes no sense at all.."
"Sir!!! Hull breach in quadrant 5b! "
"How's the armor regen?"
"Poor, sir."
"Direct all spare power to the armor regen."
"Yes, sir....... The hull is closing up, sir."
"Great. Get a crew down there to check for damage."
"Yes, sir." ...........
"What do you think of this, Wes?"
"I dont know Sopp, but I dont see how we're demoted to checking for damages on a warcruiser. We both should be on a dreadnought, if not on station pax as security."
"Hmm ok, this is the room. Get ready, the room will still have a partial vacuum."
"Yea, yea."
Sopp Grisko pushed the button to open the hatch, and nothing happened. Wes pulled out a bar and pried the door open before Sopp could say otherwise. As soon as the door was open, they heard a faint chirp.. then another one a couple seconds later. "What in God's name was that?"
"I dont have a clue. Must be some animal the escaped from that crate over there."
"Yea, I guess so. I've heard of insects getting aboard cargo crates."
The two-human crew walked over, and analyzed the breach. Almost completely sealed. "Thats good ole' Coalition armor for ya. It heals pretty quick."
"Yea... hey! look at that little guy over there!"
Wes looked over, and saw it. It was a slug. Well, it looked like a slug, except it had what looked like a tail. No, wait. It was in the front. The slug moved forward, toward the crew. Wes pulled his ion pistol, and shot it. It screeched, and sort of deflated, going limp. The humans went over and knelt beside it.
"What is it, wes?"
"Dunno. Never seen anything like it."
Suddenly there was another chirp.
"Another one?"
"Guess so, if there's one there's probably another couple."
"Yea I guess."
They went in the direction of the chirp, but then there was another chirp from the other side of the room. "Damn, it's fast." They walk over to where they heard the chirp, and they heard the chirping noise again, from a far corner of the room.
Then a chirp from the same direction, only slightly closer. "Heh we get to blow up slugs now. It was getting boring on this ship."
Suddenly there was another chirp to the other side of them. They jumped around, and then there was another chirp to their side. And another in front.
"Wes, I dont think they're fast.. I think there is a bunch of them."
"Yea I guess.. Oh, gross!" Wes felt something wet fall on his cheek. He quickly reached up to it and threw it to the ground. The slug splattered on the ground, it's guts going everywhere.
Both humans looked up, and there were tiny blue sparks on the ceiling.
Suddenly one of the sparks fell into the light, it was a slug again. This time, it's tail was arcing blue electricity.
Both humans turned to face each other. "Oh crap!!!!" Wes tried to kick the slug off his shoe, but it stung him, and he fell to the ground, stunned. Sopp paniced, and and shot in every direction, and a shot bouced off of a armored crate, and hit his partner, killing him. Then the slugs began to fall. ZZap Zap Arcs of blue electricity were shooting around him. He ran as fast as he could, to the bridge. The door was still pried open. He heard the chirping sound coming from the bridge, and he ran even faster. He got there, and nearly fainted. 3 officers were in the floor, lying in pools of red human and black voinian blood. The commander stood up, he was the only survivor on the bridge. Blood drizzled from his ear, but sopp didn't even notice. He was happy he wasn't alone. Suddenly the commander drew his pistol.
"Wha.. What are you doing?"
Flash
Sopp went down, merely stunned. Slugs crawled out of several nearby crevices, and the captain nealt by Sopp's limp body. The captain suddenly fell over, and a slug crawled out of his ear, and burrowed into Sopp's chest, where it would lay eggs later. The entire scout fleet was now gone. Simply gone. The debri was eaten, and several much bigger organisms, flew across the space, nibbling and swarming around any pieces of debri they could find. The Warcruiser drifted through space, a dead hulk. All fighters, and 5 sharks, were destroyed easily, by a few large space-dwelling slugs. After all debri was gone, a slug moved up to the giant warcruiser, and latched onto it's hull. It was nearly 300 times bigger than the smaller slugs inside the ship, almost as big as the warcuiser itself. The Warcruiser was then dragged into hyperspace, and the captured derelict was followed by the group of space dwelling organisms.
The coalition has no accurate data of where the creatures are, and there's no way to trace them.
