    • Actually, I don't think playing a freighter would be -that- much of a challange. Speed, sure, would be a problem, but the Emalgha upgrade and two mass expansions gives you plenty of room, perhaps for..well...whatever.

IMHO, freighters will become huge, secondary weapon platforms.

Anyways, off to dinner. As he Vonians say:

      "Borfhgarblebrforld!"

    • Well put, Forklift. Especially the part about the Voinians, clear as mud! Too bad EV:O doesn't have the RAM modification of Frozen Heart, that might be fun to use in a big, heavy freighter. 🙂

Hey, now, that's an ancient Voinians proverb! How dare you belittle the words of the Prophet! (You know, the gabbering one on the moon the UE invades!)

    • Oh, don't quite remember the prophet, sorry. Been awhile. And patriot, looks like shuttle would be more crew of 1 challenge than freighter challenge, just my opinion.

    • Drop bears live in the Aussie outback. They're small, and they lurk up in trees. If an unwary tourist happens to walk underneath their tree, they drop onto his shoulders. They're small, but their claws are sharp, and the more you try to shake them off, the more they cling tightly to your face or ears. Ow. Toothpaste on the shoulders is said to be a repellent.

They're not carnivorous or anything - just defending their territory. In the wilder parts of Australia, always look up into a tree before you walk under it. Then look down again, for the jump bears.

    • What would be interesting would be a Mercenary Challenge. No ships not used outside of pers by renegades, no escorts, no military technology, and you have to have every government hating you.

      AND complete the Central Objectives.

Wait a second, am I describing my pilot file here.... 😉

      Metaphorically speaking, I'm metabolically challenged.

    • The UE Freighter is so bad that I believe that it should be in a class of its own - the Ultra (Crazy) Freighter Challenge. I'm playing Strict, with No Escorts and No 'Azzy' upgrades. I found that I needed the 2 Mass Expansions just to survive before I could get the Emalgha Upgrade. I've ejected so many times I'm going crazy.

      ------------------

    • I have actually done two of the central objectives in an Emalgha freighter-heavily upgraded, of course. Does it still count if it's essentially a warship? I got the warship upgrade, replaced the weapons with neutron stuff, and got some sheild upgrades.
Would the Miranu Courier count if you upgraded it into essentially a M. Gunship?
If anyone can do a central objective in a Human Freighter, or a shuttle, I will personally erect a shrine to them.
