      I'm hooked through the bag on this game. Just went to High Garendall and got my ass kicked by a bunch of medusas. Turns out I have to complete the Dark Fairy mission, but I can't find the Wyrms valley entrance! And what are those worm holes that people are always talking about that let you move faster? Are they the cave enrances that I already know about? PLEASE HELP!

      In High Garendall, it's the Dark Spirits who are the butt bashers. Medusas are the pretty little blue ladies with snakes for hair. But when either one is screeching at you, it doesn't matter what their names are. Over on the EVNova board they have worm holes and here we have termite tunnels. The tunnel entrances are similar to cave entrances but they are built of yellow masonry and face south.

      Now that we have the definitions worked out, let's get you in the right neighborhood. If you compared the map of Garendall to a map of the United States, you're in Chicago and need to get to Boston. If you would like to look at a map of Garendall you can find a link in my signature below.

      Wyrm Valley covers several squares so look around the area until you hear the Dark Fairy taunting you. You will have to have the Awareness Skill to be able to find her, and you will need to dispense with all the other creatures before she becomes visible.       I see, Ducky, why he is saying that the Dark Fairy Misson needs to be completed first. He is probably ging after the Tome of Elixiers and there in Medusas in the caves there. Medusa can launch mind attacks just like mindhunters. When you finish the Dark Fairy misson, you get Heldan's Hat, which protects against mind attacks. You should have both Heldan's hat and the Divine Lamp before going to High Garendall

      Ah. That does make sense now. BTW, you do not have to wear the hat (It's silly looking anyway) all you have to do is have it in inventory for its magic to work. ~RD

      Really? My Undead Protection is still at 0 if I don't have it on.

      It's not undead protection, it is mind damage protection. I first learned this when I went into the cave with the Mind Hunters just north of Fantrima. I was not wearing the hat, but the screen came up with the message, "Maybe old Heldan's Hat is doing some good after all." or words to that effect. The game appearantly just checks a global - is hat in inventory, and if true you have the protection whether it shows in the stats or not.

      That's just a dialog. It only protects if you have it equipped.

      Do you have some experience to back that up because it certainly seemed as if I was getting the protection? And why would it not have the dialogue which says, "You need to find some way to protect against these mind attacks." which it does say if you don't have the hat?
