    • "Sir!" yelled a young Igadzra officer, "I'm detecting a group of 800 Prylak ships converging on our position!"

For a moment High Admiral Yar froze in terror, but soon enough he yelled, "Order all ships close enough to form up around us and protect this ships at all costs!"

Even as the first Prylak missiles began to hit Yar's ship, 2 Dreadnoughts inserted themselves between the Prylak and Yar's ship, taking fire for their commander. Fighters flew past the 3 Dreadnoughts, and managed to take down 2 Prylak ships before they were all destroyed. As the Prylak fleet drew closer, a group of about 50 cruisers began to fly towards them. The Cruisers began firing all of their weaponry, expending their ammunition and depleting their power cores. The Prylak fleet slowed a bit in their advance when the Cruisers showed no signs of stopping. Some Prylak even began to turn away, but they were too late. The Cruisers smashed into the largest Prylak ships they could find, their speed and bulk instantly dedstroying their opponents.

By this time the G.S.S. Halberd, Yar's personal ship, was in retreat. Surrounding it were 2 Dreadnoughts, a BattleCruiser, and many other ships, a couple hundred in all. Though the small fleet fought hard, it was not enough.

"All ships, turn to face the Prylak and fire at will!" Ordered High Admiral Yar. The fleet turned around and fired their thrusters, bringing them to a stop, facing the enemy. The ships fired all they had at the Prylak, destroying many ships, but they were both outnumbered and outgunned. Within 10 minutes Yar's personal fleet, including the G.S.S. Halberd, were destroyed.

    • Paladin woke from a terrible sleep, still confounded in this unknown prison - a prison more of the mind than of the body, as he had been granted some freedom.

He looked around him, quickly spotting a Galactica officer, who he approached.

"I need to go to Earth," Paladin stated.

      The officer looked shocked. "But...."

"I need to go to Earth. Life doesn't mean anything - Emperor Battledoctor can know whatever he wants. I could be the last human alive, and I will die on Earth. Get at it!"

The message was quickly sent to Emperor Battledoctor, that a man named Paladin, a man who had twice been great, was now requesting that he be given the right to give his life up, on the world where he was born.

The legend of Paladin neared an end, it seemed, but the legend of others would continue...

    • As the massive battle continued to rage, a lone GNN arada appeared near the fringes of the system.

"Keep us well away from that weapons fire -" the captain ordered, "we don't have the shields to withstand military weapons."

"Aye, sir," the tactical officer said, as the technician worked to focus the ship's cameras on a particularly fierce firefight."

"Take up a position at least fifty thousand kilometers from the fighting vessels, and move us back if needed. We'll conduct our filming from there. With this many powerful ships in system we've got to be cautious."

    • The Terran Colony Thunderhawk leapt into the Achlos system, the faintest energy signal, totally invisible, and only for a second, then it was gone.

The GNN Arada picked up the opening warphole, and the faint energy signal, but even they could not work out just what had entered.

One Prylak fighter set off course, straight for where the wormhole had been.

The pilot of the Thunderhawk swore at the realisation that Prylak sensors could break the cloak.

The GNN Arada was left in the middle, for now, to decide just what to do. If it helped the Thunderhawk, perhaps it would make it out, but otherwise....

    • Sojin cursed as sparks flew all around him. The Raven was taking damage, more then was thought posible. He looked at the command screen and let out a very explicit string of words when he saw Yar's fleet burn. He tapped his command console and opened a channel to all Zacha vessels and said, "All vessels, this is it. We unload every thing we've got and hope it damn well is enough. We fight till there are no more ships left, and then some. For this we go down as legends!"

The link was cut and the fleets of the Zacha rushed towards all three segments of the Prylak forces, beam emmiters ablaze in silver-blue hues. Shock mines were deployed and SADs and pursuit missiles unloaded, doing massive damage.

As the battle raged, a massive jump point opened, causing many sensors to flare with readings. As it opened, fighters and aradas came sweeping out in full power, with their weapons blazing. The last ship to leave would've sent shivers down any lone ship or even a fleet: it was the Ragnorak come to battle. Her whitefire emmiters and upgraded phase turrets pounded through the course and blasted any ship that so much as got in her innital way.

The Ragnorak had come to play in the giant's playground, and she was pissed.

      Pozdag system

A small fleet of some 278 Zacha vessels, mostly aradas and fighters with a few destroyers and a lone Sedran frigate, stood between the colony and where the Prylak would enter realspace. They had formed a line and they were determined to keep it. On one of the few Sedrans, Colonel Lee, a Miranu of some years, looked calmly at the screen. He looked at his XO and said, "Is all in place, captain?" The XO tapped his console and nodded yes.

As the Prylak vessels started to show on sensors, Lee opened a channel to his fleet and said, "We hold this line in hopes of defense of Pozdag and her people. Let every blow count. Hold the line and let none get through. Lee out."

He opened up another channel, this one aimed at the Prylak still in hyperspace. "This is Colonel Lee of the Zacha. Turn back now and get out of our galaxy or burn in hell. This is your only warning." The link was cut.

      Armanent:
      300 Whitefire Emitters
      200 (upgraded) Phase Turrets
40 Pursuit Missiles, 500 (upgraded) Pursuit Missiles*

      • These missiles aren't as powerful as Galactica's Heavy Pursuit Missiles, they are just the standard EVO weapon type upgraded into this world

Notes: The Ragnarok is only supercruiser class for this battle, after that it is a BASE ship again. Just note supercruiser's aren't done in halves - this ship is one powerful warship.

    • Lythrawn grinned. He grinned so evily that it would make even a Voinian or Prylak cower in fear. As the remnants of Yar's fleet were incinerated, the Ragnarok and her escorts jumped into the system. Lythrawn immediately saw this ship on sensors, but first he ordered 500 of the ships he had just recieved from the Prylak to go and help annihilate Pozdag. The rest would stay and help the Prylak fight.

Lythrawn then sent 2500 ships on a mad charge towards the Ragnarok. Weapons ablaze, the ships began to try and swarm the Ragnarok, taking heavy fire and losses, but they were doing what Lythrawn wanted; providing cover fire will 75 other ships moved into position then screamed full speed into the engines of the Ragnarok. In a massive fireball, the Ragnarok was disabled. The Prylak had taken heavy losses, but they had crippled an entire supercruiser. The Prylak ships moved off and joined the main fleet. They had lost nearly 900 vessels in the attack on the Ragnarok.

      The battle raged on...

      -----------------

Captain Tachthyeck looked at the assembled Zachit fleet in the Pozdag system. He uttered only one, short sentence:

      "Annihilate them."

Over 1,000 Prylak vessels screamed forward, weapons blazing, towards the Zachit fleet. As the two fleets clashed, 150 vessels broke off and headed towards Pozdag itself. While another 200 vessels moved in to try and protect them, the Prylak ships began to bombard the surface of Pozdag with intense ferocity. As weapons fire reigned down on Pozdag, dozens of buildings and small towns were obliterated within seconds of the start of the bombardment.

    • Sojin looked on the screen to see the Ragnorak crippled. Few of the crew on the bridge of the Raven had known the commander well enough, that while the commander was calm in many things, he could swear like a Earth-born mule. And he did so. Yet he calmed down almost immeaditaly, and he ordered a interception course. The Raven veered off from her main fleet with two destroyers and a fighter squad trailing her; she blazed through many Prylak ships with massive damage behind her and the other ships. Zacha fighters an a destroyer were lost in the assault, but it hopefully got their attention.

Lee smiled with grim satisfaction as the Zacha ships engaged the Prylak fleet. His ship was once part of Battlegroup Echo, and as such she did unholy damage to the lines. The rest of the Zacha fleet made sure the damage was moderate. Yet for some odd reason, they rarely launched pursuit missiles and no shock mines. After all, the average Zacha arada carried a compliment of six shock mines while a fighter carried three. The destroyers could carry as much as twenty five standard as well.

The encroaching ships that made its way towards Pozdag soon found out why. Lee was a vetran of eightteen years combat with the Zacha and was amongst the most well trained and knowledged tacticans in the ranks. He had made sure of one thing; do as much damage as possible.

The Prylak vessels that headed towards Pozdag couldn't anticapate or avoid the deadly surprise that awaited them. Pursuit missiles, shock mines, and SAD modules lay spread across space in good places; unfourntuate for the Prylak that though their race was advanced, the thought of such a stupid idea would do them poetic justice. The Prylak vessels came onwards and even though some managed to reach the planet, their world became fire as they crashed into countless pursuit missiles, many hundereds of SAD modules, and countless shock mines. Of the 350 vessels that headed towards the colony or protected the fleet, many of them collided with the objects. Colonel Lee had warned the Prylak to turn back or they would burn in hell. Seems like the Prylak had taken a chance and were burning.

      Such a pity it twas...

      ------------

Captain Tachthyeck looked at the grim situation. Though his bombardment squadron had made it and was now opening fire on the planet, they had been hit hard by all the weapons fire. Fortunately for Tachthyeck, it was at this moment the 500 extra ships that Lythrawn had sent arrived. With the new ships, Tachthyeck simply charged into the Zachit lines, causing massive amounts of damage and destruction. The Zachit were totally outgunned by far, with little over 200 vessels against a Prylak force of over 1,500.

Within minutes, most of the Zachit fleet had been annihilated, and more ships began to move in and bombard the surface of Pozdag...

      ------------

Lythrawn screamed his orders. "Assault that capitol ship! What's its name? The Raven? Good. Sections 3, 9, and 7; destroy the Raven!"

Approximately 400 ships moved off and began to chase and pursue the Raven, weaving in and around disabled and fighting ships in a mindless pursuit of their quary. The Raven took a heavy beating as the battle raged on and the Prylak charged into the bowels of the enemy fleet, using their superior close range weapons to great effectiveness...

      ------------

Carnotaur smiled as he looked around at the glorious MA fleet. Over 1,400 vessels had been assembled, including 5 Aurora Battleships. Finally, after much waiting and anticipation, Carnotaur finally gave the order.

"Set course for the Tmidor system, maximum hyperspace speed."

The MA fleet moved into position, and then, BANG! Over 1,400 vessels jumped into hyperspace at almost exactly the same time in a blinding fash of white and blue light. As the light dispersed, the system was unusually empty...

    • Rima hummed, back on Savior. Kerana came up with a report. She dismissed her as she read the report. The Mercenary Alliance was going somewhere? Why? Where? She sighed and went to a meeting with her officers. They had their own reports from scouts. Rima also held a message from the Qan. "Alright everyone, who knows what the Mercenary Alliance is doing?" she asked. Feraqck answered her,"We believe there going to battle." he said.
She contemplated this and then smiled."Why didn't they invite us?" She asked half-seriously. Everyone laughed. "Alright so we send 5000 ships after them to help them?" They all agreed, since they had apparently gone to Tmidor. "Alright now shpould we ally with tyhe Qan or not?"
They discussed that for awhile. A few people disagreed but eventually everyone grudingly agreed to ally with them. They needed another ally too. "Alright then everyone. Dismissed." After they were all gone, she gave the Qan a short but agreeable reply.

She sent this through the ship that the Qan had seen, who would now be a relay ship, sending messages back and forth. She paused and got into Silverwing. She left, with 500 ships of the 600. Shje looked at Savior and shrugged. Perhaps Savior could come later to be a refuel and a rest stop in the battle. The Zidagar followed the Mercenary Alliace.

    • BattleDoctor was in the War Room at Galactica Prime, where a huge holographic display of the Achlos system was showing the battle. The massive room was fulll of activity, and military personnel were scrambling about. BattleDoctor sighed as he watched the battle progress. Even with the massive amount of forces he had in the system, BattleDoctor's forces were losing ships faster than the Prylak were.

An extremely old Voinian hobbled up to BattleDoctor and saluted.

BattleDoctor saluted back and said, "Greetings, High Admiral Gaj. What is it?"

"Sir, we can't win this. There's no sign of the MA forces, and the Zachit and Azdgari fleets just aren't strong enough. There's no sign of the MA. I strongly recommend that you retreat. We've already lost two of our finest officers..."

"We can't retreat at this point. All forces are engaged in combat and we can't disengage at the moment."

Gaj was about to respond but a young Igadzra ran up to BattleDoctor, and situated herself between the High Admiral and the Emperor. "Sir!" she saluted. "I have a message from the Saalia Prison Colony for you."

BattleDoctor rolled his eyes at her and said dryly, "I assure you, it can wait."

The Igadzra was persistent. "Sir, it's urgent. It's about Paladin."

BattleDoctor snatched the datapad from her and began to read it, as Gaj and the Igadzra walked off.

      --------------

Deep beneath the surface of Saalia, Paladin sat in his cell. His cell block was silent save for the quiet whir of cameras panning and the occasional footsteps of a guard walking by. It was for this reason that Paladin was very surprised indeed when he heard the heavy footsteps of what must be at least 5 guards marching down the corridor in the direction of his cell. A few seconds later, a squad of armored guards appeared at his cell. One of them dropped the forcefield, and stepped into the cell. Paladin was about to say something, but the guard slapped a sedative patch on his arm and he went unconscious.

When he woke up, he was in a small room with a heavy door and a single, small window. As he stood up, he looked out the window and saw that he was on a ship, moving along at a fast pace. A guard outside had heard Paladin moving around, and yelled through the door, "We have orders from the Emperor to take you to Earth. Hell if I know why, but whatever.

    • Pozdag

Commander Frenz looked up at the night sky and the shadows of the Prylak fleet in orbit. The aging Kisani sighed, knowing this world was about to come to an end. Frenz was a milita commander and head of defense for this colony and would fight to defend his homeworld. He nodded to the young Miranu lieutenant who was his second in command.

"Is all ready, Maeret?" Maeret nodded and replied yes. Their world would be destroyed of that it had been certain. Civillian ships had been scrambled long before the Prylak had come to the system and had fled hours ago. All that were left were a few hundered who wished to see their final moments on the world they had been born on.

Frenz tapped his link and said calmly, "Command, begin orbital defesne."

In orbit above the planet, the Prylak sensors picked up massive flares of energy. It was the planet's planetary defense grid going online. This had caught them by surprise, and even though there were more then a 1000 ships, it was hell. Once more the Prylak fleet felt the fury of the defenders of Pozdag in their final hours. Weapons of powerful might fired bursts of energy towards the stars, hitting many a Prylak vessel and taking them down. After all, Pozdag was a Galactica world, and though the Emperor was somewhat cruel, he didn't leave out the fact that he would leave any of his worlds totally defenseless.

The Raven took heavy damage, but Sojin had done his job well. The Prylak ships had no idea what they had gotten themselves into. Sojin shouted over the din of noise to the helmsman. "Helm, bring us down 180 degrees. Weaps, fire what he have left and drop the last twelve mines as we go. On my mark...now!"

The Raven did what she was built for, give and take fire. Yet the Sedran class was also designed not only as a light crusier but as a manuverable asset. In that, she was more agile then a Crescent Warship. Mines were dropped from her hull and her whitefire emmiteres played havoc with her hunters. Then in an amazing feat, she turned 180 degress...downwards. The Raven's afterburners glowed with white fire as they were pushed to the limit.

This caught the Prylak off guard just a bit, but it gave an edge. Also, twelve mines exploded as Prylak ships hit them. Yet that wasn't the worst of it. They had been led near the crippled Ragnorak; she may not have been able to move, but that didn't count for squat in somethings.

Major Boon looked at the main veiwscreen, and with decisive thought gave an order. Her ship had been crippled and that had made her mad. Time for them to pay up in kind. With grim pride she said simply two words. "Unleash hell..."

The Prylak vessels were caught offguard once more as the mighty ship opened fire with her remaining weaponry, which was still great and destructive. Whitefire beams blazed all about the Prylak fleet even as bolts of golden energy slammed into oncoming Prylak vessels. The Prylak ships may have gotten some shots off, but they were in the end decimated beyond doubt. Of some 400 ships that had chased the Raven, only a scant three dozen remained, mostly those who had been very lucky.

Sera patted the console of her seat and said, "Thank God the Miranu were brillant. You're one of a kind, Raggy. One of a kind...

    • MODERATION: Whitehawk, as new moderator of this story, I ask you to edit your post immediately. It always seems that you think too much of the Zachit, and it's time you stopped. I don't want to sound harsh or rude, but really, the Zachit are not that powerful, especially compared to a large and powerful race like the Prylak. Not only that, but the Prylak are also fast; Esponer stated (in one of his first posts referring to the Prylak) that the Prylak were quite fast and thus would have been able to keep up with the Raven. That also means they could dodge a lot of your weapons fire. How about 150 ships made it out alive from attacking the Raven and the Raven took heavy damage? Sound okay? Don't forget that the Ragnorak were also delt a bit of damage when I assaulted the Ragnorak.

And as for Pozdag; no, you had no idea I was sending my fleet to attack Pozdag. You just suddenly put your ships there. You would have never, 1) been able to acertain where I was going to attack, and 2) been able to evacuate all of Pozdag in time. It takes a while to evacuate an entire planet, Hawk. Besides, my ships would have already delt substantial damage to your planetary defense, and as soon as they opened up, I would have then annihilated the defenses first, then the rest of the stuff.

      -----------------

Captain Tachthyeck struggled back into his captains chair as the planetary defenses of Pozdag opened fire. To combat this, Tachthyeck ordered the entire fleet to open up a murderous volley of weapons fire on the defenses of Pozdag. With the Zacha fleet destroyed, the entire Prylak fleet used their powerful weapons to, within moments, decimate dozens of defense turrets. Within minutes, the defenses of Pozdag had been obliterated. Within another 2 hours, Pozdag was annihilated. All that was left was the blasted out remnants of it.

      -----------------

Lythrawn roared at the fact that his ships had not been able to destroy the Ragnorak. Finally, he ordered a group of severely damaged Prylak vessels that had just tried to kill the Raven to slam directly into the side of the Ragnorak while 3000 other Prylak vessels covered for it.

The Prylak vessels (approximately 200 of them, some of them were the ones who tried to kill the Raven, the others were just ships from across the fleet) screamed ahead, weapons blazing, and rammed themselves into the side of the Ragnorak, causing massive damage. Then, a wave of 4,000 Prylak vessels swarmed the Ragnorak, doing even more damage to the already crippled vessel. Finally, after the Prylak vessels had been slamming weapons into the Ragnorak, Lythrawn had to call them off to help the main fleet, which was having a lot of trouble with the Azdgari.
