ok so heres the big question: which is tougher? personally i think the Alien Cruiser in EV is much harder to track down and kill(the actual finding is pretty hard since they only give you a general idea of where to look, and that general idea is always wrong). I just wanted to see what others think about this.

A very good question. My gut tells me the Alien Cruiser would get the edge in a fight due to its heavy fusion beams and the fact that its 3 alien fighters possess far greater combat abilities than the Dreadnought's interceptor complement. The Alien Cruiser's seeker drones also probably do more against armor than the Dreadnought's rockets would do against its shielding.

I also would say the alien cuiser with its shield regeneration, fusion beam and three fighters. However, in a hull to hull contest, the Dreadnaught would win since he would not have to care about the fighters, and he has six neutrons turrets.

Alien Cruiser all the way. First off, its fighters are so much more powerful than the Voinians sissy ships, not to mention so much faster. Once the fighters were out of the way, the Alien ships could take on the Dreadnought itself; 6 neutron turrets are useless against 3 Alien Fighters that can move fast enough to dodge them. The Alien Cruiser could sit back and fire all of its Seeker Drones from a safe distance, then move in for the kill when it is empty, thereby minimizing damage.
All in all, it would be a slaughter. Just one more way EV is superior to EVO.

The Alien cruiser would win hands down, if only for its shield recharge rate as opposed to anything else, imho the dreadnought has more formidable firepower and plus, it's a giant triangle, and nothing that shape can be bad

Im just going to say the Dreadnaught because i dont like 1 sided arguements. For one thing, its got a name that took a good 10 seconds to think of, the Alien Cruiser probably only took 5 secs.....biiiiiig difference...ok not really but its all good. I also love the way the Dreadnaught looks in Magma, reminds me of a super-star destroyer.
....Ok, ok, the cruiser would win hands down, but it would be fun to watch.

Well, a few years ago, shortly after EV Override came out, I made a plugin that put the Alien Cruiser into it and ran a series AI vs. AI tests between these two ships. Not only did the alien cruiser utterly destroy the Dreadnaught and Voinian interceptors every time, its shields never fell below 99% and none of its fighters were hurt.

Definately the Alien Cruiser, although you have to remember that the Alien Fighter is pretty much just there to frustrate the hell out of you, as you spend half an hour just trying to blow it up. Only once have I done it without the tractor beam.
Nice Rebel Destroyer. There's a good boy.
Just to note, the Alien Cruiser takes about 60 seconds to turn into a pile of steaming wreckage.
The Dreadnought takes 10 minutes.
Plus, you usually fight the Alien Cruiser in a Kestrel, but I usually end up with only a measly UE Fighter vs the Dreadnought.
So...perspective is everything.
