I think that the Miranu contact missions need to have been done.
As for the NT renegade missions, I think they start at Hizdriar (the strandless planet near Hrekka that always has brawls).

Andrew banned all of those free e-mail services because people were abusing the abilty to do so, and then register on the boards (over and over again). The one from your ISP will work.

And what is one to do if the have never used and dont even know if they have an account from thier ISP?! I Think it is VERY rude of him to block the email addresses used by the vast majority of the net. The only reson i bothered getting my self an account here was that i was IN TEARS after all the independent systems started hating me because i aborted the last huron mission twice (HOW THE ____ WAS I TO KNOW THAT WOULD PISS THEM OFF?!). Usualy when i see my addy banned, i turn around and go to a site that DOESNT TREAT ME LIKE A RENEGADE! HELLOOOOOOO?! NOT EVERYONE HAS A F'in non-free email account! It just PISSES ME OFF that ambrosia is EXCLUDING the people who just may not have a PERFECT LIFE and access to a fancy, pay-for, email address JUST TO REGISTER FOR A NEWSBOARD!

I know how you feel. My ISP's SMTP server has never worked for me...and its the second largest ISP in the US. Sad.
There are several places you can get a free email that andrew didn't block. Most also provide some other service, such as a free unix shell or web hosting, and actively cull out spammers and idiots.
Try (url="http://"http://www.shellyeah.org")http://www.shellyeah.org(/url) , a free shell service. It used to be that you had to Telnet in and read your eMail with pine, but I think they have a web-based system. You need a Telnet app to create a new account, however. (url="http://"http://www.arbornet.org")http://www.arbornet.org(/url) is the same deal, but they offer less on the shell itself (no IRC, for example).
I use both, and both are pretty good. And I'm sure there are some obscure free email places out there andrew hasn't blocked -- but if I tell you here, I'll also possibly tell spammers that want to register another spam account.
