i cant figure out how to make my plugins work. Please tell me a detailed proccess of how to download them and how to use them?

      thanks

    • Download them at the ASW plugin site. Use StuffIt Expander to decompress the file if it doesn't do it automatically. There will be a file in the folder of the plug-in you downloaded that looks like a puzzle piece. Open your EVO folder and put that file into the EV Plug-ins folder and you should be all set.

    • ive tried that but the plugin wont work. i dont know if im opening it wrong or what. do you go into the game or go into to the plugin?

    • It doesn't matter how you launch EVO. If the plug-in is in the plug-ins folder, and the plug-ins folder is in the Override folder, it will work. Unless the plug-in is corrupted.

You launch from the game. The plugin, whatever it is, will be active in the game. Be patient though, many of them don't make obvious changes right away.

    • First, you need these items:

      1. Get a monkey
      2. Get a sandwhich
      3. Get a bannana
      4. Get a computer
      5. Get a chair

      Then you need to:

      1. Give me the sandwhich
      2. Set up the computer and put the chair in front of it
      3. Put the monkey in the chair and tell him to get you the plug-in you want

(Note: In case of savage attack by the monkey, throw the bannana across the room and run)

    • k, it still wont work. I dowloaded the diplay armor pecentage plug ill tell you what i did so you can see if i did anything wrong.

i dowloaded the plug from the webpage with stuffit expander to open it, when its done i take the document disparm.bin or something and expand it. i put it in the plugin folder where it has a plain white paper as its icon and then launch the game. i get into battle and it doesnt display the armor percentage. ive tried restarting and it still dont work.

      ------------------

    • The plain white paper is indicates that:
      A. You've put the read-me file into the plug-ins file and are retarded. 😉
      B. That stuffit is not unstuffing it.

Personally, I think it's the latter. The same thing happened to me with F-25 a few times. I would try it again.

    • It is possible to have problems with older versions of Stuffit Expander, where the conversion is incomplete and the new file is not recognised as a specific kind of document - in this case, an EV:O document.

Update your copy of Stuffit Expander (download from Aladdin Systems). Fortunately, an old version of Stuffit Expander WILL allow you to unpack a new version... clever, that.

Make sure you have unstuffed the file completely... that Expander is not converting foo.sit into foo.bin.hqx and getting no further. This incomplete translation is a sure sign that the person who stuffed the file used a different (usually newer) version of Stuffit than your Expander is aware of.

Remember that plugs go 'naked' into the plugins folder. Do not leave them in folders, and DO make sure they're in the plugs folder, not just in the main EV:O directory.

Deleting the default sample plugin from that folder may be necessary... but I've never had any problem with it.

Your ploy of using an instantly visible plug like 'show armour %' is great... changes like that should take effect straight away. If you were trying to figure this out with 'Reign of the Voinians' you'd have a hell of a time working out whether the plug was working or not. Plugs that change the colour of the stars are another obvious choice for this test.
