I think EV3 should be fully 3D and you can make super fun ships. The interface should project from your screen into real life, and have a telepathic
user interface, too. It should be fully multiplayer, run on any OS (including Atari and Game Boy) and make you money while you play. It should also
be free, and the tech manual should be candy. After you eat it, you should be able to print out another one. If you don't have a computer capible of
playing it, they should give you one, and assign you a personal tech support guy in case you have any problems. Even if you don't, he can write plugs
for you. It should be massively multiplayer and if you don't have internet, Ambrosia SW should give you a free 100000000k connection. It should
have LOTS of cheat codes so I can win every battle and it shold have MILLIONS of systems.

Of course, I am just mocking you whiney little EV Basterds. NYAAAAAH!

I remember Andrew Welch saying that the graphics of EV3 would be better than those in MAGMA. If that's true, then I know the game will be great! MAGMA had cool graphics (so EV3's must be GREAT). And with the new engine and a new storyline... I can't wait!!!

i havent read any of the previous postings, so bear with me, im in a hurry to reboot my comp...

a) allow for escorts/ships to be left at planets while you rent/buy a new ship. also give the option to add old ships to your fleet rather than trading them in

new type of map: rather than systems being separated from each other, have a large scale ares style map so that if you exit a system, it will be the same when you jump back in, and different jump distances take different amounts of fuel. this option would also enable you to jump accross the entire galaxy in a straight line, provided that you dont hit a nebula/object. this new map type would also be the answer to multiplayer problems with jump times. one porblem with that would be that it would take alot of memory, however we can all hope to have g4's by the time that EV3 comes out.

c) large ships that cant land on planets have shuttles to go down instead, this means that if you have a large ship, it will be vulnerable to fire while you are landed on a planet and therefore you have the potential to end up in a shuttlecraft when you take off. maybe this could be the non-registered hinderance

d) MULTIPLAYER! plz plz plz make multiplayer. its sooooooo boooring just playing by myself.

e) more than just 2 superpowers, perhaps a more realistic political setup with certain companies that exploit 3rd world planets/systems.

f) the ability to actually join a government without having to do a starter mission.

g) all objects hit all other objects, regardless of their political orientation. this way, you can shoot rockets/missiles

h) the ablity to target enemy incoming weapons, see above

i) targeting of different systems on a ship (eg. engines, weapons systems, engineering, bridge ect.) this would obviously also suck memory, but it could be done

j) redo the cloaking device, so that it simply renders the target invisible on all scanners, but still visible to be shot at using sight

I like the idea of selling captured ships, I hate setting them free.

I think the best feature of the game is going to be its story, however. Everyone says they want it to be elaborate like the Frozen Heart and Femme Fatale, but I don't like the idea of having a past assigned to my pilot (father dying, et cetera). I like to think of the pilot's own past and future (don't get me wrong I like the plugs), without it being decided even if it is a great storyline.

If the third EV game does good (it undoubtedly will) will there be a fourth or is Matt Burch only interested in doing a trilogy ? I know it's a bit (well, more than a bit, but anyway...) early to be thinking about a sequel, but all of Babylon 5 was completely planned out before it was even made. Maybe EV is the same way, or maybe not.

EV Nova is an rumor at this point. Nova is an enormous, amazing total conversion for EVO that probably outdoes any other plugin currently in existence. It's rumored to be the scenario for EV3, but neither ATMOS or Ambrosia have said a word on the subject.

I think I had a demo of Epsilon at one point in time. I have no idea where it is now, but it was realy cool and may have been a product of Ambrosia's secret Area 51, or a test game that was in VERY early beta stage and working on it halted.
All I know is that I was in a dinky litle manta fighter. I couldn't shoot, and all I could realy do was bump into asteroids floating about like dead possums.
BUT IT HAD A 3D ENGINE!!!!! serious, I'm not kiddin.

heres some more ideas: have a boarding pict, that shows you the inside of a ship.

have weapons info, that gives the range accuracy ect without having to get the ev weapons guide to find out

have the ability to buy marines at the outfitter. i havent actually played 1.0.2 for the UE yet, so maybe im saying something thats already been done.

uhh, there were a few other things, maybe make more realistic weapons such as lasers that fire like real lasers or antimatter cannons and whatever, have better planet picts (magma is really cool, just got it) and make an editor, like hera. make it really simple to use, and really effective. maybe also allow for plug in makers to create their own flags and what not...

oh yeh, what is ATMOS?! wheres the website!?

and whats the current info about nova? anyone know when its coming out?

In EVO there were human renegades and crescent renegades,but there were no Voinian renegades. Also, there were no civilian ships (shuttle, scoutship, et cetera) for the aliens. The Voinians had the Supply Ship, but where is the crappy ship for alien star pilots to start with ? This might be something to consider in EV3.
