One of the details I would like to see in EV3 that the other two lacked (aside from plug ins) is an actual ending, not neccesarily meaning you can't continue playing but more like a conclusion to the plot, 2 sides rebels-confed, one side should win. I played the first EV all the way through missions and all, BUT IT TOTALLY LEAVES YOU HANGING, I would like to see the game itself have a conclusion to the story, then we'll talk plug in's to extend the story.

Ooops, I must of been talking about something else

I realy think the color change is a good idea. Also I like EV ships and planets better so I hope EV3 is like that.

In EV3 I would like things to be more to scale. For example, in EV Override, my UE Cruiser was as big as a planet!!! Also, the UE Fighters were much to big to dock inside my cruiser. I realize that some of this is due to different perspectives but wouldn't it be cool to have huge, I mean HUGE, planets as backdrops? Also, I liked the idea that someone said on this board of being able to fly around in the planets atmosphere and actually docking on the planet yourself. I also realize that this would be extremely hard to do realistically in a 2D game like EV. Finally I'd just like to agree with Grundle_4 in that I totally trust Ambrosia to do the right thing and I think that EV3 will be a kick-butt game.

If everything was scaled correctly, you'd need a damn G4 to run it. I am glad planets and ships are not scaled, otherwise 3/4 of the people here couldn't play EV...

I'm glad so many people agree with me. . I think that flying in the atmosphere would be cool, but it would take up a lot of memory. Unless they did it with the QuickTime Movies, they're putting in, but then we would have the same atmosphere for every planet and it would just be a pain in the @ss after a while. It would be cool for stuff to be scale, but it doesn't bother me if it isn't.
Everyone keeps bringing up NOVA and ATMOS, and now I know what it is (Thanks, Shade . ). I just wish someone could tell me a little more about it. I'm a newbie (to the board) so I don't really know anything about it.

What I'd like to see is that you start as a human, when you finish this "scenario" you could choose an other race (lot's of replay value this way). Or if at the start of a pilot you could choose what race to start with (EV3 I've heard is so big that it will allow a shuttle type ship for every races). Every races could have modifications, ex: Azdagari are speedy, so if you choosed to be an Azdagari all the ships you pilot get a bonus in handeling. And something else that was not in the other EV's: currencies!
P.S.: Keep up the good work you rule!!!!

**Flying in an atmoshere would not take alot of RAM. In Exobattle the atmosphere consists of one 3DMF that does not take a solid form. So basically it is just a spob with a spob inside it.

Very true Soviet Mikee. But, eventually, as much as you guys might hate it, all games are going to evolve and expand and with this expansion, system reqs are going to go up. Ambrosia has done an excellent job at trying to make games that take advantage of new hardware, but still run on older Macs (Ferazel's Wand is a good example). I want EV3 to run on my Performa 6200 too, but I know that I'll have to upgrade sometime. EV ran great on it, but EVO was very sluggish, so I'm not expecting EV3 to run decently since it's supposed to have a rewritten engine (???).
I also think that sometime in the future, maybe not with EV3, EV will have to go 3D. IMHO, EV3D with everything to scale would be the perfect game. Just imagine being able to go anywhere you want in a huge virtual universe without being required to do this mission or fight this battle, etc. However, I think EV3 will have plenty of life left in it as a 2D game. At least for now...

Not if the currencies are calculated automaticaly each time you buy stuff ex: price tag 300$ when you buy at instead of paying 300$ EV3 will make you pay lets say 400$ and that could change depending on how each races or planet are going (if you do lots of raiding or trading).

My first question is : Will this game be more like EV or Override ? By this I mean will it be humorous (like EV) with planets like Endor and Dune, or will it be more serious (like Override) with fewer comedy elements ? I happen to enjoy both.
**It will be serious. It has a HUGE storyline that will keep you busy for months. Lots of different governments to work for and dozens of ships.

**My second question is : Will there be many pictures on the map ? Like the Trugati Asteroid Belt, Serpens Nebula, Ji and Proxima Nebulas ?
**There will be a few, more than either EV or EVO, but not an overwhelming amount.
Quote
**My third and final question is : Which universe will this take place ? The one from EV with planets like Spica, Palshife, et cetera ? Or the universe of Huron, Pax, Mirava, Hinavar, et cetera ?
**
It won't be in either universe. It will have a completely new storyline, just like EVO did. Storylines are meant to be continued by plug in developers not Ambrosia. If they were to make an addon then what would be the point of all the other plug ins?
